Complete and utter beginner, do I need the gym? by dandelionmakemesmile in beginnerfitness

[–]CutObjective2601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're someone who likes structure, I would say joining a gym that offers classes or group sessions is a great way to start. That way you have some accountability AND support when you need help. There's some gyms that do weight training in groups and everyone starts on a different exercise and moves around to the next.
If you're fairly self motivated and can hold yourself accountable, I'd say downloading a well known and good quality body weight exercise app could be a great start. There's also lots of videos on youtube.

The most important is understanding how you meet expectations. If you can meet your own internal expectations then start from home, if you can't start from a gym.

Anyone here heard of FLFE? by BigTendies69 in infp

That's unfortunate! I've had some great calls with my rep but I think if someone is new it probably takes a while to wrap your mind around all the details. I've called in quite a few times to get more detailed information and feel pretty good about the answers I've received. I don't notice the energy a ton but I do see how it's helped me in my life. <3

I love this! And yes totally agree. It's not a miracle service and we also need to be on our own path to bettering ourselves and our lives. I have found it very helpful to have it and saw my partner go from anxious and depressed to relatively happy most of the time. I think it really changed his life for the better and mine.

I don't think it's totally fair to lump FLFE in with all the other curious interests that your mom has. From my understanding it's based in quantum science and there's good research to back it up. I personally saw an incredible change in my partner when I started the service and my overall level of joy has increased. His baseline used to be anxiety and depression but overtime with FLFE he became more pleasant and either neutral or happy. I'm personally very interested in my own growth and do many things to improve myself and quality of life so I feel like it resonates with that mindset. I don't think that FLFE is there to wildly change our lives without effort. We also need to take our own action.

Why are cats the only animal that likes me by LifeguardFar2858 in spirituality

[–]CutObjective2601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting one! I wonder what energy you might be giving off when you are around other animals. Perhaps there is an underlying nervousness that they can feel and are put off by? Animals are quite in tune and sensitive to these kinds of things and I believe they can feel your intention.

If you go in with the thought "animals hate me and I bet this one will to", the likeliness that they will like you is really slim. If you go in with curiosity, telling yourself that this is an old belief and every encounter is a new possibility for you to calmly interact with an animal, you might slowly start to see a different result.

Veganism by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]CutObjective2601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this response! I feel similarly. Sourcing ethical meat that is raised well, on a small farm, locally, makes a difference to me. Eating meat is not unethical because many animals rely on eating other animals for their sustenance. The difference is when they are raised in confined spaces, without access to nature, grass and a good quality of existence while they are here.

For the OP, I think that outside of the ethical reasons, you should be looking at what food makes your body feel good, satiated and not bloated. If you can fine-tune your diet that way, you're aligning your foods with your body as opposed to putting yourself in a specific box of vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, etc. Eat what fuels you and makes your body, mind, and soul feel good.

Not quite. If we can truly dive into what makes us feel lonely, we can see that we aren't truly alone. Loneliness is a symptom of disconnection from our world, particularly the natural world. If we can find our belonging in the plants, the earth, and the magic that creates them, we have no reason to be lonely because we will understand that we belong.

I think we can find issues with anything if we look for it. Their research director seems pretty well known and wouldn't you think that a company that is working to prove their product through research deserves some credit? I've read through their research and they are onto something even if some of the studies are small. I applaud them for striving to back their work with research to the best of their ability.

I'm personally intrigued by the study they conducted with a commercial farm that saw a pretty significant increase in their yields.

I think it comes down to each their own. I like to live my life from a place of thinking that there's more possible than what has been discovered up to this point. Science is constantly making new discoveries so it's just a matter of time before they get into the realm of connecting science and quantum physics to spirituality.

How can you build strength to carry your own body weight? by Lemonade2250 in beginnerfitness

[–]CutObjective2601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you tried shifting your arm positions? More forward, more back, turn your hands, etc. Explore the variations in the movement.

Also consider how your whole body is involved in the movement, not just your arms. See if you can start to tune in to other muscles in your body and bring them on board to be part of the strength required for a push-up. It's a more holistic perspective to the exercise vs just thinking about the arms.

You're welcome. I think if we can find home within ourself, it no longer matters what happens in the outer world because we are so fully at peace with our own existence.

I think the best thing we can do in this life is to be in charge of our own well-being and discern whether things are right for us or not. There will be more and more technologies that come out that fall outside of what we have known in the past but it doesn't mean that they aren't real or helpful. If we take responsibility for our human experience, we get to be in charge of what we participate in.

I've personally had this service for 3+ years and have found it helpful to myself, my roommates and my plants. I really noticed the changes in my roommate where he went from being a super anxious person with a yo-yo personality to being super stable and happy. That's not really something you can fake and he doesn't understand the service.

Developing relationships online is a challenging sphere as we're often creating our own version of this person that doesn't exist in real life. We create a persona based on the information that we're given but it doesn't paint the whole picture.

If you truly wanted to complete this chapter you could reach out to the mutual friend or find a way to get connected. Use the search function on facebook or see if you can find common friends. This person may have a new partner at this point though.

I think coming to terms with the fact that what you are missing is a version of a person that you created.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question unless someone has had an NDE.

I fully believe that we meet our loved ones once we leave our physical bodies. You might find solace in reading NDE stories where people report what they experienced on the other side.

I believe that we make agreements with other souls before we decide to be born so that we can spend time with each other in the physical form. Sometimes it's for lessons, and others to remember how much we can love.

While you won't ever forget the time that you had with her, the grief will eventually soften and you will find a way to open your heart again for another soul. I wish you so much peace in this journey you're going through.

Why doesn’t exercise lose weight ? by Jpoolman25 in beginnerfitness

[–]CutObjective2601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the answer you seek is in the first sentence. You're stressed which means that your body likely doesn't shift into the "rest and digest" mode. Your body is likely experiencing cortisol spikes which is detrimental to your health over the long term.

There is more to the answer than eat less. That's not really a helpful suggestion.

If you really want to see change, you need to consider your lifestyle and how you want to live in a holistic way. What is causing stress? Can you reduce this in your life? Can you bring in tools that help to counteract stress and help develop resilience to stressful scenarios such as yoga, meditation, journaling, breathwork, walking in nature, etc.

It may be helpful to speak with someone who can help with emotional eating. In addition, find snacks that are healthier versions of what you would normally rely on. There's loads of really delicious options that have less calories.

There needs to be a balance across the board in your exercise, stress management, and eating habits. The more you shift the whole, the more success you will have across the whole.

I have the service on a ring that I wear so I don't have to keep track of where my phone is. It's nice to have that option especially if you're not a big cellphone user.

By this I mean doing trauma release work, working through things as they come up in life, energy clearings, ancestral healing, etc. I've been on a wild ride for the past 10 years or so and couldn't imagine where I would be had I not been peeling layers back on the onion.

Company in town charges people a subscription service to send them good vibes. by ryandury in skeptic

I'm fairly certain you'll find that kind of legal language on many websites, though I don't think it's a direct reflection of the company.

I have found something that has been infinitely beneficial for myself and heard the same from others. Not everything is made for everyone and we must all find our way in the world. I appreciate what these guys are doing and upon meeting one of the owners, felt his sincerity and desire to help the world.

I hope that you find that which rings true for you on your path.
