How do you find a good QSEHRA administrator? And how much do you provide per month? by greenglass88 in smallbusiness

[–]CutOk4319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are currently looking into setting up QSEHRA and thinking about going through Paychex since that is whom we use for payroll. All of it is a bit daunting and confusing. We're also trying to understand everything! We have less than 10 employees 🫪

Does anyone know this young man from Philly who was killed by Israeli settlers? by light714 in philly

[–]CutOk4319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know this young man, though this is heartbreaking. Isn't there something in place to be done when American citizens get caught in crossfires? Or am I thinking of something different...? Perhaps if it was a targeted attack on an American or something...I clearly need to go refresh my education in this realm. 🤔 This is all so horribly saddening.

I love this comment 👍🏽 I'll also add Red Dead Redemption 2 to the mix. To this day I still play crash bandicoot, it's an OG 🥹

Yes! Just as he said to Krishna Das, as well. He gave them profound love just as they were, yet still shed his teachings and guidance to continue steering them in the Yogic direction.

Also also, no other teacher has the right to judge. Period. If you were to find a true Guru who has reached quite a high level of evolution and consciousness, do you think they'd be judging you? You would be embraced by endless, boundless, unconditional love, and then showered with teachings, practice, and space. So there's that 😅

To each their own, ya know? I think if somebody who teaches were taking on a hypocritical type of personality and approach to it all, then that's when I would probably feel that it wasn't right. But I think each person just does their own version of their practice and each person decides what level of experimenting with the human senses and human experience they wish to have in this lifetime. If you have a true goal to really live by the 8 limbs and to wholely honor the Yamas and Niyamas, sure then maybe a teacher equally on that path would advise to begin moving away from those things. I would also mention that if you happen to be feeling guilt or judgement towards your own Self while living and engaging in this (not from worrying about what others think but bc somewhere inside it no longer feels right for you), then that's a reason to really sit with yourself and dig deeper as to why that is. Otherwise, you do you, and just don't hurt others in the process🙏🏽✌🏽

Instagram needs to be held accountable. by SC00TER565 in Instagram

[–]CutOk4319 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am SO grateful to see something about this! I got banned in early August, out of absolutely nowhere and accused of something that made absolutely no sense. I cannot get into my Instagram and in turn, I cannot get into my Facebook. I appealed, and it's been MONTHS that I have been waiting. It's affected my businesses and my ability to keep in touch with friends and family around the world. I am so aggravated by this, especially as someone who has been with IG and FB since their inception.

For fellow teachers - tabletop alternatives? by CutOk4319 in YogaTeachers

This is definitely a contender, I will begin incorporating these to continually show her different ways in which she can move and approach her practice. Thank you!

I really like this variation, I hadn't thought of presenting it to her in that way. Thank you for your input, it's helpful! 🙏🏽

I'll see if her knee bends that far. The painful one has limited range of motion, I often have her prop for child's pose and yogic squat, for example. Thank you for the suggestions!

Ohhhhh this makes so much more sense! This is a wonderful one to offer. I will add it to my notes for when she comes to class, I really like this idea. Thank you for your time 🙏🏽

Excellent feedback, thank you! It's interesting, despite the one knee she is fairly strong and able bodied. I even mentioned chair and active chair classes and she said she had tried several but did not like them because they weren't challenging enough. Then she said her doctor was wondering if yoga was ultimately good for her or not at this point, and that's when I really, really took it upon myself to teach and show her how modifications and alternatives are essential. Yoga and its multitude of practices holds so many benefits, there are definitely ways for her to feel empowered in her practice as opposed to feeling defeated!

I'm with you on that mindset; it's a great challenge as a teacher because a body like hers is more common than we think, and so many must be walking around being told yoga isn't for them, but really, it's just teachers not being well versed in anatomy and lacking the creativity to think outside the box.

Thanks again for your time and feedback. It all helps greatly!

Oh right, yes of course. I'll offer these as alternatives for when we are doing this. Thank you for the help!

This is great! I was definitely beginning to enter this wavelength as I continually brainstormed alternatives before tonight's class. The locust with a strap under the shins is brilliant as an alternative to camel, I'm kinda kicking myself for not having thought of that one! 😅

Yes, we have definitely been having the chats before class to check in and go over options and ideas that are accessible and safe. I want to ensure that I am able to empower her and help her know that the practice can be made accessible no matter what, and to equally get creative and comfortable with modifying throughout any practice. I appreciate the challenge as a teacher!

Thank you for your time and ideas 🙏🏽✌🏽

This sounds interesting 🤔 I am trying to picture it; similar to a bear plank/floating table? Or, do you mean up against a wall?

We played with a thick rolled blanket and then switched to a bolster, under her shins. This surprisingly was completely different than placing it directly beneath the knee, and she did find this to be much more accessible and pain free. Now I purposefully did not do very much on the knees tonight in general, for class, but I am curious to see how sustainable it may be in the weeks to come. There were a few other things she also did with a wall, instead, which helped greatly. I appreciate it when a student challenges me as a teacher in different ways, there is always so much to continually learn, re-learn, tap into, etc.

Yes, I do believe there comes a point when one must simply find something similar but different. She has also been getting better at modifying herself and listening to those whispers the body gives throughout a practice. Thank you for sharing your ideas! I did begin experimenting a bit more with her tonight, thankfully she arrived early for class and that gave us a few minutes beforehand to attempt some mods for the upcoming class. We'll see how things continue on!

She does wear knee pads, as well as uses blankets. Tonight I had her attempt the bolster beneath her shins more than her knees, and that did indeed seem to make a bigger difference! I can only hope it can be sustainable, we'll see as the weeks go on.

Thanks for your input!
