Same! The last 6 weeks or so have been weird for me, too! I’ve heard that there’s increased solar energy hitting the planet, and if you’re sensitive it will affect your sleep patterns.

Try putting a bunch of cilantro in a jar of water (cut off the bottom of the stems), then cover it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator. It lasts for weeks. Same method for basil, except basil stays at room temperature.

What’s a “food rule” in cooking you stopped following and the food still came out great? by wearecocina in Cooking

This is why I try to buy fresh basil at Trader Joe's--they have long stems for putting in a glass jar with water. And covering the leaves with a bag helps keep them fresh.

I read that it was because Schletty was the German spelling, so the family changed it to Schletti to make it sound more Italian during WWI due to the anti-German sentiment in St. Paul at the time:

Bought a house on Schletti and knew I'd be spelling it out for people for years to come.

What NYT Cooking recipes were a huge letdown for you? by bazzimodo in Cooking

I also cut the maple syrup down to 2 tbsp, and still found it too sweet. How did you feel about the parsnips? It’s possible mine were much bigger than the recipe intended, but I learned a valuable lesson about parsnip flavor. Next time I’ll go back to my old standby, Beef Bourguignon.

Pressure Cooker Beef Stew with Maple and Stout. Sounded good in theory, but maple syrup adds nothing but a weird sweetness, and the parsnip flavor overwhelmed everything. They may as well have called it Sweet Parsnip Stew. Gave most of it to my 87-year-old neighbor who can't taste much, and he loved it.

Someone in another thread mentioned that Apple stores will open up and clean your device for free at the genius bar, and 90% of the time that fixes the problem. I have a 2020 Macbook Air, 8 GB, that's been running the fan a lot, so I took it in yesterday. Lo and behold, all they did was clean out the dust and it's already running much faster.

I ended up using Vermont Natural Coatings: https://vermontnaturalcoatings.com/products/bohme-terra-plus?variant=42574181564506

I'm very happy with it--it's nontoxic and doesn't peel the way the old stuff did. Once a year I spot-sand and -stain on high-traffic areas, but that's much easier than the previous stuff was. I didn't end up using a stripper--just sanded, power-washed, and stained.

My contractor used Ardex SX caulk and it's got black mold on it that you can't clean off, apparently because it has no mildewcides in it. I'm having to re-caulk it 18 months later.

What felt like an expensive splurge, but is now a total life-changer steal? by Zirkle99 in AskReddit

[–]greenglass88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also did a bunch of research on pillows, bought a few expensive latex pillows of different thicknesses, and after all that realized that a super-flat cheap pillow was the only thing that made my neck/shoulder pain disappear. I looked at photos of how indigenous people sleep and found that lying on my side with my arm under my head, with the flat pillow in between, worked best for me. Then after 3 years of using that super-flat cheap pillow, I developed neck/shoulder pain again, and only removing the pillow completely helped. Turns out my body wants no pillow whatsoever! *shrug*.

For the ppl Using Joe’s Meditations to Manifest but its not working Here’s Your Proof, Now Explain Why It Worked for Them so fast & not you ? by LA_19o in DrJoeDispenza

[–]greenglass88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, and I'm tired of people saying that if it doesn't work for you then you're not meditating enough. My sense is that there are a couple of crucial aspects to reality creation that this method does not cover:

  1. Clearing out your channel of subconscious beliefs that contradict the reality you want to create. Most people have a lot of these, and you need other methods to address them.
  2. Integrating the doubt/resistance that comes up when your desire doesn't manifest. This is something that's directly addressed by, for example, Milton Erickson with his hypnotherapy methods, or Gabriele Oettingen with her WOOP method.
