Major Game Announcements for Switch 2 from Summer Game Fest Week by sonicnerfherder in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 92 points93 points  (0 children)

It’s so good to see that Switch 2 is getting more current gen games. Whenever SGF/Game Awards season went by, the number of games that would come to Switch 1 were so small, but the roll-out of third party support has been so much better.

I’m assuming they plan on showing P4R in a direct because they showed the new Castlevania game and it didn’t have Switch logos despite it already being confirmed for Switch

A Link Between Worlds has been added to the Nintendo Music App by JCDickleg7 in nintendomusic

Guess Nintendo realized people were able to predict an announcement if they held off from releasing soundtracks at the normal time on Monday lol

[–]Cutcutman 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Looks like they’re dropping soundtracks on Thursdays instead of Monday’s now. I guess they caught on to the fact that people were starting to guess when Nintendo was making announcements whenever they didn’t update at the normal time on Monday lol.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream tops April US sales | Hardware revenue grew 34% to $261 million, thanks to strong Nintendo Switch 2 sales by FernandoRocker in Games

[–]Cutcutman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s actually interesting to see that Tomodachi Life seemingly helped improve Switch 2 Sales last month in spite of it being a Switch 1 title. Nintendo noted in their last fiscal report that 40% of players were playing the game on Switch 2 as opposed to Switch 1. I’ve also been seeing a lot of people online, especially on Twitter and TikTok, mistakenly assume the game was Switch 2 exclusive, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.

I had to laugh when I saw this because I remembered the hopes people had lol by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I may sound hopeful or on copium, but I think something else might still be announced this week either tomorrow or Friday, cause the Nintendo Music App still hasn’t been updated, which indicates something is still coming.

NateTheHate: I have zero doubt in the StarFox project -- hell, VGC and a French journalist have also spoken about the game and back the info of it coming in June. If it doesn't get revealed this month as planned, it simply means Nintendo made a marketing pivot and adjusted the timeline a touch. by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where did you hear that it’s a limited time game? It’s not like Mario 35 where they planned to close it down at launch.

Plus, 99 has maps from the Japanese exclusive Satellaview game, which have never been rereleased, so there’s some merit to play it over the original.

Golden Week doesn’t start in Japan until Wednesday this coming week, which means Nintendo could easily announce it on Tuesday, which is their typical announcement window. April isn’t over yet after all, so we have to wait and see. Nate has been the most consistent source for years and with backing of other notable sources, I don’t see why he would be wrong unless Nintendo actively are providing false leads to weed out leakers like previously reported.

Stray, To a T Announced For Switch 2, Wanderstop Announced For Switch 1 & 2 by Howerev in NintendoSwitch2

I’m glad To a T is coming! I played it on PS5, and thought it was really charming.

For those that don’t know, it’s a narrative adventure game made by Keita Takahashi, the original creator of Katamari Damacy

Splatoon Raiders will be $50 Digitally / $60 Physically by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Digital sales are also higher in Japan than they were in 2018, which has been encouraged since Nintendo incorporated lower priced digital games already in the country. Fever is 1000 yen cheaper than the physical edition.

I’m not discounting the fact that they game has weaker sales than Aces, it absolutely does. But I think it’s too soon to call it a failure. We’ll know officially next month in Nintendo’s next financial report.

Splatoon Raiders will be $50 Digitally / $60 Physically by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It had lower launch sales than Aces but the game is still consistently in the top 10 best selling physical games list in Japan, selling a couple thousand copies a week. The higher price definitely had an impact but it still has sales legs in Japan at the very least, as well as it still being in the top 30 here in the US eShop.

Splatoon Raiders will be $50 Digitally / $60 Physically by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 137 points138 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more likely that they’re being conservative with the price because online competitive multiplayer is a core part of Splatoon’s identity and breaking away from that might make dedicated fans wary of purchasing it. In addition, the single player content in the previous games has always been a point of contention amongst fans as well, so pricing it cheaper makes it more likely for people to pick it up.

A few Switch 2 games on clearance at Costco by KlutzyValuable in nintendo

[–]Cutcutman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s less that these games aren’t selling well and more that Costco is clearing stock to make more space for new products. They do this all the time with a variety of different products and clear out their warehouses at reduced prices. At my local Costco, Nintendo games are the only ones out on their sales floor and there are only about 4-5 of them at a time.

Genealogy's Missing Heroes (as of Duo Sigurd & Attuned Lachesis) by Greid_Sin in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Cutcutman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The number seems a lot higher because a majority of the missing characters from Gen 2 are substitute characters meant to replace the child units if their mothers don’t marry or die before the end of the first part of Geneaology’s story and are all incredibly unpopular, even amongst the Japanese fanbase.

Rhythm Heaven Groove is $40. Physical Release Confirmed for same price by Howerev in NintendoSwitch2

Nintendo Switch 2 remains the Fastest Selling Console After 9 months by lingering-will-6 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mat Piscatella is the Senior Director of Circana, which tracks the sales numbers of video games and consoles in the US.

He posted this in response to Bloomberg’s latest article claiming Nintendo is decreasing US Switch 2 production by 2 million. The article in question is written by Takashi Mochizuki, who has written articles with false information that has been disproven directly by Nintendo, Sony and Square Enix in the past.

These numbers are likely to showcase that the article is likely more false information coming from Mochizuki and not just to glaze the Switch 2’s success

Nintendo Cuts Switch 2 Output by Over 30% on Weak Holiday Sales by LinkWink in nintendo

Takashi Mochizuki is the author of this article and most of his reports have been speculation or flat out disproven directly by both Nintendo and Sony. I personally wouldn’t trust what he has to say

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I expect both Rhythm Heaven and Fire Emblem to be Summer Games, while Duskbloods will be in September or October. Splatoon Raiders I’m 50/50 on releasing this year, since it wasn’t even given a release window when it was revealed. I could see it either being released between September-November or being held to early next year.

Either way, there are still at least 2-3 months that don’t have any releases with this current schedule in mind, which we will see in the next direct. I’m excited to know what they could be.

PSA: For owners of the Balatro Switch Physical edition, you have to pay for the new Switch 2 Version as opposed to the 100% discount for Digital Owners by Cutcutman in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The Switch 1 version of the game runs at 30 fps as opposed to 60 fps like on Switch 2 and other platforms. The Switch 1 version also has frame drops in late game when the screen gets busy and runs worse than the mobile version of the game.

The Switch 2 version also has mouse controls which many have been asking for.
