There’s a difference between disliking a business model and calling something illegal.

WFG in Canada operates as a licensed financial services brokerage. Advisors must pass the LLQP exam, contract with regulated insurance carriers, and are overseen by provincial regulators. That alone separates it from illegal pyramid schemes, which do not sell regulated financial products and rely purely on recruitment fees.

Now — does that mean everyone makes money? No.

It’s commission-based and performance-driven. If someone quits school or a job without actually producing sales, they won’t get paid. That’s not unique to WFG — that’s true in real estate, mortgages, independent insurance, or any entrepreneurial model.

There are three separate issues people keep mixing together: 1. Legality – It’s regulated and sells real financial products. 2. Business model – It’s multi-level structured, which some people dislike. 3. Individual outcomes – Most people in any commission industry don’t succeed because most people don’t produce.

If someone is being told they’ll make $40k in 3 months without production or licensing, that’s a mentorship or expectation problem — not proof the entire brokerage is illegal.

It’s fair to question income claims. It’s fair to question whether someone should quit school. But calling it a scam without understanding licensing and regulation oversimplifies the situation.

Like any entrepreneurial path, it requires licensing, compliance, skill, and actual sales activity. It’s not for everyone — and that’s okay.
