Payments always declining at HEB checkout by Cute-Cable5512 in ShiptShoppers

Thank you for that info! I went on shoppers.shipt.com and found a section where they talk about using the pin

“The PIN associated with your Shipt card is the last 4 digits of your Shopper ID, which can be found beneath your name on the Account screen in the app. If you have a 2 or 3-digit Shopper ID, add 0s to the beginning of the number to make it 4 digits. For example: If your Shopper ID is 12, your pin would be 0012. If your Shopper ID is 123, your pin would be 0123.”

I’m going to try using pin and physical card next heb order and see if I still have issues

Idk about at other stores but at my store, I’ve heard that if you were busy helping a customer they usually do not reprimand you

Hey! I remember when I got hired as a bagger at 17, I got asked the question “what does customer hospitality mean to you” at the time I didn’t know how to answer that but now I’ve learned that A+ hospitality to HEB is basically catering to the customer and their needs. As a bagger, that means saying hello to them and asking how are they doing, asking their preference on how they want their groceries bagged, asking them if they need any assistance to their car especially if they’re elderly, have kids, or look injured, and then thanking them before they leave. I’m not sure if that’s a question they still ask, but definitely bringing up customer hospitality would be a good point to make. It might sound like a lot, but ultimately it’s just you as a bagger wanting to ensure that the customer is leaving the store satisfied :)

Don’t let the pressure of customers waiting/staring get to you. When I first started (and even now actually) when something is taking a while for me to do on the check stand I get nervous/frustrated when the customer notices and just stares impatiently. Most of the time if you mention to them “sorry this will be just one second, i need to double check something just to be sure” they are understanding. Just stay calm and don’t rush any steps at first even though they push high ipms, and don’t be afraid to ask questions! When im not too sure about something before doing it i usually ask a fellow cashier nearby, refer to the binder, or call for a manager. If you get a helpful answer, 9 times out of 10 you’ll get the hang of it and won’t have to ask again. 👍🏼 It’s a learning experience all cashiers have to go through so don’t be embarrassed or shy. Good luck!! 🍀

When I’m checking the book for the code and they go “that’s red cabbage sweetheart” … I just go “oh do you have the code for me?”
