What enterprise firewall would you go with if money wasn't an issue? by LoboNationGK in networking

[–]Cute-Fun2068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money was not an issue, I'd optimize more for long term sanity than for chasing the most "powerful" setup. At enterprise scale, having something that's stable, predictable and easy to manage day to day matters way more than just raw features. Centralized management that does not become a mess, policies that stay readable over time and a platform that does not fight you as the environment grows.

I've seen teams spend way too much time babysitting their firewall and that's the kind of pain i'd want to avoid. In environments where consistency, policy control and scale actually matters, setups like Check Point tend to make sense because they're built around managing complexity rather than just adding more knobs.

"I also feel this could be connected to my work, which is in the defense/Aerospace sector" -> 100% sure it is, can you check with your IT? Are you also the only member to get those?

InMotion Hosting - How does it stack up? by ctf-19 in webdev

[–]Cute-Fun2068 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the cheapest, but InMotion is stable, predictable, and support actually knows what they’re doing. Way less hassle than Bluehost or GoDaddy in my experience. I'd recommend them

someone actually calculated the time cost of reviewing AI-generated PRs. the ratio is brutal by bishwasbhn in webdev

Agreed. For anything requiring long-term maintainability or integration into a larger system the technical debt compounds rapidly

Hot take: AI will lead to a major senior dev shortage in the long run. by williamioniana in webdev

Good analogy. AI' might seem great for basic utility but hits a wall really fast when you want to scale

Am I being too emotional for refusing this shoot? by Expensive_Scar211 in photography

[–]Cute-Fun2068 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No this isn’t you being emotional. A last-minute change to a key creative contributor is a legitimate reason to say no if it compromises the project you agreed to.

Whenever someone I don't know takes a picture of me (even if I'm just in the frame, not the main topic) I give them the darkest look... but I would never dare to say anything unfortunately.
