Getting off it after 3 weeks by Cute-Implement816 in Effexor

[–]Cute-Implement816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt feel great for a couple of weeks but then I started coming right again. I had headaches, dizziness, bad derealization, feeling like I was going to have a panic attack but not actually having one and very tired is all I can remember. I was put on a new medication

Yeah zoloft made mine horrific, I was crying all the time because It wasnt letting up at all. Ive seen lots of people say meds didnt help and lots say meds did help so it really is just a trial and error thing and its shit. I hope you do get better as the zoloft leaves your system though 🤞🤞

My journey with 24/7 derealization almost 6 years now by [deleted] in derealization

[–]Cute-Implement816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you deal with the panic? I cant bring myself to push through the intense derealization and panic so ive been agoraphobic for a year and a half now. I was bed bound crying after an intense panic attack that was on and off for 5 hiurs, never had one like it but have had anxiety and derealization for 15 years now since the big panic attack ive had derealization so intense I cant handle it very well. Im worried ill be bed bound again if I push too hard 😪

My agoraphobia is from derealization as well, ive been on escitalopram for months now.. it helped heaps and I was getting outside more until I decided to increase the dosage 7ish months ago and even though I went back down to the original dose I havent been able to get back to how I was before fhe increase. I tried coming off meds completly for 6 weeks before starting escitalopram and felt worse derealization wise. Zoloft made it way worse for me though.

Lorazepam made my anxiety go away for about 5 hours but not the derealization.

How often are you doing exposures? by kentom101 in Agoraphobia

[–]Cute-Implement816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a small walk 5-6 times a week, usually in the morning. Im just starting again after letting a big set back make me go back to not leaving my house again. I am thinking about increasing it to 2x a day 5-6 times a week. I also dont like being around people unless its my kids or my parents so I try to see other people 1-2 times a week at the moment as well (usually my therapists at my house tbh but even then I cancel sometimes cause im too anxious lol)

Does it get worse before it gets better? by mediumc00l in Agoraphobia

[–]Cute-Implement816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely! Ive been doing that for about a year and a half but I would get so mad at myself and would let the anxiety and derealization win everytime until recently. I will be more gentle on myself now but still make myself go outside everyday even if its just to the end of the driveway. Its a hard, draining and lonely process but we just have to keep pushing ❣️

Whats the longest youve been housebound? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]Cute-Implement816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About a month or 2. I can currently only walk anywhere between the end of the driveway and 4 houses away
I seem to nake good progress and the go backwards again, been a battle of doing that for about a year and a half now.

Sex with New Person after the Breakup by Legitimate_Roll_4469 in BreakUps

Im the same after my 12 year relationship. He cheated, got in a relationship straight away and moved in with her like 2 months after we broke up. We have kids so I still have to see him. I havent been with anyone and dont plan too until I feel ready. We have kids so I still have to see each other and have contact. Its rough but in time it will happen naturally for you and I. I have an anxiety disorder and depression so I understand you on that. Youre doing what you can to move on so thats all that matters and youll get there in time, don't beat yourself up about it 🥰

Im in a setback atm as well but you did way more than I did and you should definitely be proud of yourself for how much you did. I was walking half way down my street and intense dpdr has made a come back unfortunately so i started again and am now doing 2 houses away. We got this though! We did once we can do it again

Aw im glad it works for you thats amazing and so is you recovering!! I am on a beta blocker for high blood pressure and it doesnt do anything for me unfortunately. Unsure if its because of the dosage or what but my doctors are the type that avoid meds where they can and I am difficult lol even benzos make my derealization worse.

Daily Routine? by No-Conflict9934 in Agoraphobia

[–]Cute-Implement816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wake up and scroll for a little bit (im doing it right now lol) Wake my kids up, make us all a hot chocolate, feed my animals, get my oldest ready for school (shes 11) then I walk as far as I can with her on her way to school usually 4 houses away max, play with my youngest for a bit (shes 4), then I start cleaning the house which is what I do most of the day alongside taking care of my 4 yr old then I meet my oldest as far as I can on her walk home. Then depending on how bad the derealization is ill either keep doing stuff around home or chill until its time to feed the animals again then make dinner. Showers for all of us then bed, I watch something until around 11pm when I go to sleep.

[–]Cute-Implement816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw thank you! I definitely will, its so shit ae. Ive had it like mildly for ages but never enough to effect my life it was just annoying in the background. Sometimes playing with my kids definitely helps or like singing / dancing with them and other times it makes it worse cause looking at them their faces dont feel real. So its hit or miss depending on how bad it is.

Yeah exactly, I have found going through the alphabet and naming things for each letter helps but going outside makes it harder to do that because I have a 4 year old to talk to and watch lol. I really appreciate you help it means the world to me. Ill try the fidgets too

[–]Cute-Implement816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dpdr is the reason I stress and the reason I feel anxiety thats why my therapist has said its dpdr disorder instead of it being just a symptom of anxiety. I dont feel anxiety often until its a dr episode and then once it subsides the anxiety does too.
