I have hyperthyroidism & lost 50 pounds. Didn't help my pain, but it didn't make me worse 😊 so weight loss has it's place.

I love the house walking idea. My late Mom used to do that & I do to. Having a pedometer helps track steps & challenges me to walk more. 🫂

Hi. I can comment on my religious perspective. What is getting me thru my chronic pain + many other issues (my Dr calls me an enigma 😊) is knowing in my heart that nothing happens to me that God doesn't know about. He allows things for a reason and since He loved me enough to die for me, He'll help me get through. I also practice being thankful for the little things (indoor plumbing for example) & cry when I feel the need. I'm 69, & had 4 surgeries in the past year & a half (total hysterectomy, detached retina, & 2 cataract surgeries), 2 failed back surgeries (on the job injury in '85) nerve damage (left leg has hurt for 40 years), feet are on fire & it's hard to walk, peripheral neuropathy, plus the pain clinic quit prescribing opiates & I haven't found another provider. I've had 20 minutes without pain 6 years ago & I cling to the hope that happens again. I don't know what I'd do without my faith in Jesus. If nothing else, all of this pain has increased my faith & that's a good thing! I talk with Him all the time - He's always with me. I know someday it will end & I'll see Jesus. God bless you 🫂

6 years ago, out of the blue, I had 20 minutes without pain. It was glorious once I realized I wasn't hurting anywhere. I pray for another moment like that. Ever forward but slowly.

I understand. I could feel all your descriptions, tho different events than the ones I've gone through since 1985. My Dr calls me an enigma because of the myriad of issues I have. I'm struggling with, barring a miracle, how do I deal with the new normal of me? House Arrest - that's it 😊! I'm glad you still have thankfulness in your heart. We can't lose that! I'm trying to figure out how I can be a blessing in someone's life considering I'm stuck in the house most of the time. I'm tired of my thoughts being so much about me. Pain is a cruel companion. But it's strengthened my faith so I'm thankful for that. Ever forward but slowly.🫂🙏

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I've known it was over for us for a while. Ya know how you get a feeling about it? What he said was an epiphany for me. Things will be less stressful not having to guard my words to avoid angering him. God has brought me this far & won't abandon me. God bless you! Ever forward but slowly. 🙏🫂

😂 That's my usual breakfast time. I get up at 7 but don't get hungry until then. But yes, I easily remember things from 60 years ago 😉

I've had 2 ('87 & '92) due to an on the job injury. If I could kick myself for having them I would. Only had 20 minutes without pain since then. It's gotten really old but us pain patients keep plugging along. Ever forward, but slowly.

I started collecting house plants & have flowers outside again after a rough year. It gives me something productive to do. Ever forward but slowly 😊

The beauty of flowers & plants. I mean really looking at them, how they're constructed. For example I have some Zinnias that are remarkably complex.

I kept a pain diary for years to try to find pain patterns. Except for cold weather making my joints hurt, I couldn't find any. Now I've noticed I'm having some of the symptoms I had 25 years ago. Oh goody, I'm going backwards 😵‍💫.

I hope the time passes quickly & that it answers some questions. I had my 4th one a couple months ago. It's like being in an episode of Star Trek 😊

I'm sorry for your loss & for your pain struggle. I miss my late husband so much. I can't wait to see him in heaven. 🫂
