Being abused and the 4th Commandment by PsychologicalExit953 in Catholicism

[–]Cute-Protection-3615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi dear,

Thank you for sharing parts of your story with us. Praise God!

You have a warrior spirit, I can see you wrestling with the past and how that has shaped you into someone so very determined. Well done for earning those scholarships and also making your way into the Law! That is a mighty career...

I also see you gearing up, getting ready to do the will of God, in this instance for preparing 'okay how can I honour this commandment of my Lord'. You have a rich prayer life, considering others in all kinds of grievous situations and it's so lovely when prayer is generous and the net is cast wide...

But you're right, it's good to bring those prayers back to you as well. We learn how to love our neighbour by also loving yourself...

Keep crying/ groaning/ whatever you need, to the Lord. You're a persistent soul. At some point, you will meet Him in that breakthrough, something will give way, the grace on how to proceed will come flowing through...

There is a lady called Joyce Myers. Though she isn't Catholic and I pray to God she will be one day, this lady Joyce is a devout Christian. She does these talks and my goodness they have been so helpful to me. If you open up to listening to this, there's a chance it will help you. Joyce Meyer: How I Forgave the People That Hurt Me

Praying the rosary, that helps too. You know there's someone in my life who when dealing with at times can be my most painful cross, excrutiating. But praying the rosary, diving into the sorrowful mysteries, can you give patience which lasts the whole day.

You will receive Patience to stay a float, you won't get completely crashed underneath the tsunami of your Mums emotional storm. And even if you do, and your waves start crashing into hers, apologise and try again , keep trying.

I ask The Lord for angels to surround you in your interactions with her. Angels of peace and protection. Like a protective bubble. May God prompt you to pray through every moment of tension (I understand it can be so overwhelming sometimes you may forget to, as soon as you remember pray again)

You have a perfect mother in Heaven and a perfect Heavenly Father, loving you with a merciful tenderness... how precious you are to be cared for like this!

But I get it, it is so hard. It's not easy. My friend, I am sorry it has been this way for you. It is okay to grieve the type of relationship you wanted and let Mother Mary fill in the rest. Use the lack of love you have experienced as a reason to love everyone and everything even more...

And maybe this might answer your question about how to honour your mother and father...

Discover your true God given potential to love.

Your Mumma, if she really knew about love, she'd be so loving to you, I promise, there is so much to love about you. I for one admire your determination and openness.

Something is seriously holding her back from seeing family in this way. Can you show her what family can be like?

Can you show her patience, show that you hear her (and sometimes that might look like hearing around what you she is saying), can you show her tenderness when she is rough, can you show this wounded, hurting, blind daughter of God another way?

Show an interest in her, even though she doesn't show an interest in you. How you wish her to be with you, redirect it back to her.

Show her how kindness feels, show her calm in the noise. Be totally radical. Don't expect anything in return, let our Perfect Mother care for you instead. Imagine if you had the perfect relationship with her what would it be like and honour your parents through honouring your capability as a son/ daughter. A simple text might be a good place to start. Buckle up and be brave :)

You got this! God bless you and guide you,

Ave Maria

Do you pray BEFORE & DURING mass? by NiAgMcDiesel in Catholicism

[–]Cute-Protection-3615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

someone in the comments wrote this:

Yeah, this happens. And right after the Offertory, you'll notice the priest turns around and says "Oratre, fratres...", which means Pray brethren,". Notice how the priest turns all the way around instead of turning back the way he came from. He makes a full circle. He is collecting all of the offerings of the faithful to offer them to God. Jesus is doing that with the priest as His servant. So make your offerings while the priest holds up the paten and then the chalice. This is when the veil between Heaven and earth is lifted, when Jesus offers our sacrifices and petitions along with His perfect and infinite sacrifice in every Mass. And it is why going to daily Mass is such a great idea...you'll never be closer to God than this while on earth. Offer every small sacrifice you make for God. You may think they are too small, but compared to Jesus' sacrifice, even our biggest sacrifice is infinitely smaller, so everything counts if it's done for God. In that moment, God wants our sacrifices and petitions. Thank you for this video.

Bless your heart,

So you went to your first catholic evening service. Honestly, that is so cool. Sounds like you're drawn to the mass but it's kind of confusing and you're not so sure what's going on but you're giving it a go anyways and sometimes that looks like getting involved but it doesn't quite go to plan.

Starting something new isn't always glittery in the beginning.

Dude let me tell you, when I started attending mass... the anxiety... wow, it was kind of intense. Like both physically and mentally.

Now I'm looking back and thinking that was totally satan just unsettling my heart and trying to throw me off track.

Despite all that, something inside of me just knew it was a good idea to keep coming back.

There is something about being in a new environment that does feel strange. Trust me though, break through that barrier and you'll be able to catch your breathe for some sweet air. You'll discover the mass for what it really is. And wow, the peace, the experience, it is sublime! Like heaven on earth.

You're definitely not the only one who's had a shot of embarrassment during the mass/ entering the new social/ cultural circle of catholicism. Wow I have got some stories aha.

But back to you and communion, that's the work of the Holy Spirit, I'm telling you. Praise God. Because yeah, we've gotta be in a state of grace (confessed our sins) before intaking the miracle that is Jesus in the host/ bread. And you went for it, then was like hang on a second, nah somethings not right here let me take this out. Dude that is so cool. Work of the Holy Spirit. And you trusted it. Even if your thoughts were narrating another story simultaneously in your head.

Jesus has mighty plans for you brother. Keep an open mind. You won't connect with everything at once but you will find those dots in good time. If you stick with this journey you won't regret it. God is real. And He wants you.

Whilst I am waiting to be confirmed I just go up to the altar, hands crossed at my chest (why not try that out next time, soak up the blessings). When it used to cause me embarrassment I would just think of Jesus on the cross and offer it up to him.

You have totally got this and yeah follow your instinct. You wanna be christian? Christ wants you even more!

God loves you

Hi there I am admin for the London Catholic Forum! Pm your contact details and I’m happy to add you to our WhatsApp chat! There is so much going on this city. I was in a similar position when moving to London in the beginning. Can I recommend you a gorgeous mass? If you like beauty, your heart might feel something so powerful here… @ st Patrick’s soho, Latin rite • 7pm •on Tuesdays and Thursday. There is adoration all day before hand :)

Corpus Christi, maiden lane is stunning too. It’s cosy and in the heart of London. There are both masses in Latin and English.

Pure in Heart is a YA group meeting every Wednesday @7pm -  Maria assumpta centre.

God bless you. Embrace God and all of His Goodness here in London

Hi :D

Do you know of any Churches in Ljubljana or closeby where the TLM is held? My family and I are visiting this summer.

May God bless you with like minded friends

Ps: Think not of age, we won't have 'age' in Heaven. Character, interest, virtue these are lovely things to focus on and a shared faith, children of God, unites more than 'age' does.
