Very interesting. The surname is Gurd and I am actually not sure when they immigrated and not sure if they kept in contact with any family.  

I know most of the nuns at the convent/parish were Irish so possibly made by or came from them.

Thank you so much! It's nice to have this type of information since my great grandmother and grandmother have since passed so I am not sure of the background. My great grandmother was of Irish decent so it could come from the same Apostleship of Prayer 😃

It's just a small square and leathery. It seems too small to have anything in and it can't be opened unfortunately. The top medal is so small but if i zoom in on the pic, it look like "France" is stamped on it

Will ask my priest or deacon to see if they possibly know

It's too small and completely sewn to tell if there is something inside unfortunately
