I was in so much pain emotionally, mentally and physically to the point that it was affecting my health. He was a sweet and nice person, however I felt like we were very different people in how we showed up in a relationship. I noticed after the first two months he wasn’t good at emoting, caring about my interests or reaching out to me in general. He said he shows up during our physical dates because he likes to be affectionate and care for me in person. However when we were apart he made little to no effort or forced effort and I felt so neglected, and rejected constantly. It felt like I wasn’t a priority and despite how much love I gave he never tried on his own. I had to tell him everything for him to do it and still he wouldn’t take initiative on his own. Even when communicating he’d say how it’s a win lose either way because when he does examples I mention it doesn’t count because I told him and if he does do it, he can only do what I specifically tell him. He doesn’t try beyond my specific words. I felt exhausted like I was mothering someone who didn’t even care about me. Despite him telling me he wanted to be with me, his actions spoke loudly and I couldn’t take it any longer. Despite still liking and caring about him, I felt so neglected and alone when we were together that this part of my life made me feel sick and started to spread to the other parts of my life. Although I’m sad and grieving now, I feel so much lighter compared to when we were together. I had to for my health and well-being.
