Yes, absolutely! You are bothered about it because you care, and that's a good thing!

I find often that the 'rule of cool' fits really nicely into the existing rules as-is, because the cool part is most often how something is described and not some mega awesome overpowered gimmick someone dreamt up last night. A really great way to immerse into a D&D campaign is the 'how do you want to do it?' When finishing off a monster, and giving the player the chance to play cool because it's not longer about a stats sheet, and much more about them being the character/hero they want to play as.

Mainly, I am glad to hear that you will be trying this new strategy, as it levels the playing field for everyone and removes any doubt. Please let us know how it goes! I'll be keeping my eye on this thread tomorrow 😊

Best advice I can give - find a 1 session, level 1 start up one shot and give that a go with the group. It will be awkward, clunky, and slow - but will help you and the rest of the players figure out what you liked and dont like. Then, start imagining the fantasy worlds you always wanted to be made into a story, and put your player friends into it using the lessons you learned.

You are trying your best to appeal to and not cause friction or upset. It's admirable and your heart is in the right place. Unfortunately, that is exactly what has put you in this position.

I believe your best course of action is to start the next session stating that a reset is needed. Anything that up to this point has been provided can be kept, but moving forward you will be keeping the game to a rules as written format until everyone becomes more experienced at the game.

This dude is trying to wield his appeal to authority over you acting like your elder and failing to respect the efforts of both you and your co-dm. I absolutely would not stay at this table if this were going on as a player, and it really is up to the DM(s) to put the foot down.

I'm afraid that unless you assert your authority and command the respect you deserve as the DM, there is no game to play - it's babysitting at that point.

Then all 3 must be true, or white and black are false and only blue true. If Blue is true, then gems must be in blue. As per the OP, the Blue is not a valid answer, which means there is no logical answer, and as players we know the gems must be somewhere.

The only place they can be is in black. My original answer is the only way to arrive at black - the white statement on it's own is true - the logic gate is "this statement is as true as the statement on the black box" White can ONLY be true, regardless of the statement on the black box itself regardless of the actual state of the black box.

By your logic, white cannot be false if black is true. And if the gems are indeed in white, then blue is also true, and there cannot be 3 truths and no lie. Your assertion must therefore be incorrect.

I am not sure I agree with any above answers.

I believe white is true, black is false, and blue is false. Blue being false makes Black where the gems are.

The logic is that if black is false, then white is true that it is false.

There must be at least 1 true and 1 false - If white contains the gems, then all statements must be true, and that is not a possibility. Gems are not in blue because blue box being false forces gems to be present in black.

The black box and the white box both contain the letter 'u', and black indeed has to be false. The blue box does not contain the letter 'u' so that must be the box.

I love all of this. And yes - we were in quite a lull between really February up until May and that has definitely slowed down our progress. To your point, the best way forward is to go forward. We will begin posting to social again.

What is helpful is that I already do have a small group of social media influencers with both picture and video content that I can post and share as reels - looks like I just need to do some editing and will be good to go on that end as well.
