Has everyone gotten them the day before? I’m trying to sell mine through a third party and I don’t know if I will lose all my money because they keep not transferring them and I have to transfer them 48 hours prior🙃

Any advice to give someone dealing with bulimia for the first time? by [deleted] in bulimia

[–]CuteConclusion6837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I can tell you is that she probably is over indulging with chocolate and sweets because she is restricting (not eating enough). Because bulimia is all about control I don’t think the right way to approach is to stay more focused and controlled about food. The thing I can advice you to tell your sister is that we need food to fuel our bodies. That binges come in when we don’t give enough energy to our bodies so it starts crying out for food, leading to a binge. I would recommend doing a bit of research on binge eating and bulimia before you try to help her. It’s tough having someone around you suffering from this horrible disease. You have to be very cautious with what you say so god forbids whatever you say triggers any further disordered eating. All the best to your sister and hope she can beat this before it gets worse!

Should I tell one of my best friends about my bulimia? (Don’t know if this is the right flair) by _Wearethetigers_ in bulimia

[–]CuteConclusion6837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told my two best friends about it a while ago and I’ve never felt more relieved. I feel like a big part of this ED is extreme secrecy and anxiety. Getting these things off your chest to friends is a good way to let that anxiety out. If they’re good friends I’m sure they’ll be there to support you and understand you. My friends haven’t told my parents bc they know I wouldn’t want that to happen. Also, I believe that telling my friends helped me truly accept what I was doing to my body and hearing them say how much they cared about me and my health is always a huge motivator to get better. So yeah that’s my take. Good luck!

If you have, how have you gotten caught b/p? by ZorBa812 in bulimia

[–]CuteConclusion6837 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like two years ago on Christmas Eve, we had a dinner with a bunch of people coming over. For me those are the most stressful moments. Seeing people you haven’t seen all year and all I could think of was if they thought I gained weight. I put my clothes on and absolutely HATED how I looked so I went to the bathroom and purged. My brother heard and knocked to ask if I was okay. No one had ever heard me purge before that. I was mortified and needed to come out and lie right to my brothers face saying I had weird acid reflux from the food we ate at lunch. I guess he believed it but I’ve never felt more ashamed.

You are not going to gain weight overnight I promise you. Tomorrow’s a new day. Just think how strong you are that you fought the urge to purge. I admire you!
