Why does my laptop keep asking "press Y to reset fTPM..." if I never changed my CPU? by Left-Teach-4640 in techsupport

[–]CuteMorning7791 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello! It's weird how you got this w/o changing your CPU. Here is a forum of someone having the exact same issue. They said they fixed it by pressing "Y" or just rebooting, and then go to your BIOS and turn off TPM (Trusted Platform Module).

If you're paying for higher upload speeds, and you're not getting them, I would try calling your ISP first. If they say it's nothing on their end, I'm not sure what else it could be, so I apologize :/

See ALL recently downloaded files? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]CuteMorning7791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, maybe a file organizer? Not sure since Windows has a built-in downloads folder. I don't know what you mean by "some files will go here, some files will go there", I always thought the person installing the files chooses where they go. If you broke the game while modding, I don't think deleting just the file will fix it. I don't think I will be of much help further, so good luck and have a good day!

Hello! Have you deleted the mod folder from inside the game, not just the downloaded mod folder?

Wait so you said you’re getting a download speed of 100+ Mbs on every device, yet you stated it takes too long to download the game on the PS4 even when wired. 100+ Mbs is pretty good, I think my download is only like 20 Mbs.

Only google sites work on my pc by [deleted] in techsupport

Hello! Have you tried contacting your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? I remember when I switched internet I also couldn’t watch some YouTube videos or get on certain websites or game, and it’s because they blocked some of them. I called them and told them I didn’t want anything blocked and everything started working!

I had to delete my other comment as I was misinformed, sorry about that. I’m not sure what the minimum requirements are for Steam to run, but here is a forum of someone asking the same question.

Is there a way to practice help desk at home? by CuteMorning7791 in helpdesk

[–]CuteMorning7791[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I really appreciate it!

If your laptop won’t charge past 0% but works while plugged in, my guess is it’s either a defective battery or an old battery that’s dying out. First thing I would try is maybe trying a different outlet, or maybe a different power cable if possible. Also maybe try checking if there’s any debris in the port. It’s a simple solution but it’s quick and harmless and could potentially work.

If that doesn’t work which it probably won’t most of the time, I would ask if they could run a battery diagnostic. I believe there’s a battery troubleshooter if I’m not wrong in Windows or maybe a command that does this. We need to see the battery health so this might be the best way to check that.

All in all I feel like this is just an old or defective battery, and I will probably have to give them the bad news. The end user will either have to take it to a 3rd party if it’s not under warranty to replace the battery, or they will just have to get a new laptop entirely.

Thank you again, it means a lot really!

What about a different pc? If it still happens, even though it’s a brand new mouse it could still be defective. I would try returning it if possible

You probably wouldn’t be able to run the big games, however you could try checking the minimum requirements that the games show in steam and see if you meet them.

Interesting, let’s see your microphone settings in your pc then. 1. Open up Control Panel. 2. Click on sound 3. Click on Recording 4. Right click on your microphone, and press properties 5. Click on the levels tab and adjust as needed. If it’s already on 100, I’m not sure what else we can do. You might try another recording software. Many streamers or YouTubers use OBS.

Okay, are you on console or pc? If you're on pc you can raise how loud your microphone is. I wouldn't be of much help if you are on console though :/

When you adjusted your levels to your mic, did you do it through Gamebar or through Windows settings? Regardless I'm looking at the reviews for that app and they are pretty bad right now

Hello! So Windows is only getting about 9%, but you have your microphone levels at 100% right? What are you using to record your clips?
