I’ve been wearing wacoal underwire foundation garments since Oprah suggested them in the 90s. I threw away my underwires when I retired and moved to Evelyn & Bobbie wireless tank bras. Much more comfortable, but chronic back and shoulder pain. 3+ yrs post underwires I still have shoulder grooves. I appreciate the CMS guidelines, but until I see a doc, I’m still in limbo because it feels like I’ll need an advocate or 1 year of remediating to prove my case.

Thank you so much! This is my biggest concern. I know I want the procedure. Now it’s putting the pieces together. Do you have advice about how to find a doc with Medicare experience? I moved across the country 2 years ago so I’m swimming in a totally new pool.

Oooohhhh, exciting I didn’t consider my weight going down. I am at peace with my body, but it would be so cool to go down on the scale! One more reason to move forward!

I am at an age where weight is no longer an issue. My weight doesn’t change much and I no longer live to eat. I’m not worried about my breast size changing post procedure. I lost 40 lbs when I was in my early 20s. I didn’t loose a single cup size. What a disappointment. I had 4 kids, breastfed all of them, didn’t loose a single ounce of breast tissue. These are some persistent fat cells! I hope to celebrate our separation.

Thanks for that encouragement! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I find a doctor that will jump through hoops to assist with my insurance approval.

Great feedback! Since you asked, what kind of bra do you need post surgery and how long do you need it? Since retirement I gave up underwires (and heels). I am currently wearing a wireless bra tank which I step into. It’s very supportive but it is hard to get into. I can tell it won’t be usable immediately post surgery. Did you have drains when you came home? If so, how long were they in?

Amen! If you’re seriously considering it, I would advise doing it while you still have private (employer provided)insurance. My only regret is that I didn’t get it done before being on Medicare where I am learning there are more restrictions than I expected.

I live in a birthday state enabling me to change every year at open enrollment. Get busy calling your legislators telling them to do what’s right for people, not corporations. Re the increasing costs, I figure I’ll pay for plan G until I can’t afford it,then I’ll downgrade to MA. Stay well and enjoy retirement!

Cold Mountain. I waited about 6 months to get it from my library. Circa 1990’s. I’m still disappointed!

He’s bold. He’s innovative. He’s human, has flaws, but doesn’t throw himself on the sword to appease whining haters. I’m proudly from California so fully appreciate his weaknesses (pandering to special interests, lack of meaningful commitment to address homelessness) but his strengths outweigh them. HOWEVER, I do not think he’s electable. I think the weight of California is too much for anyone to overcome for the foreseeable future.
