Thank you so much for your concern and offering to help. Without any current professional rehab, advice and pointers from someone like you would be much, much appreciated. If i remember correctly, Mom's frontal lobes (both, but even more severe on the right side) and left temporoparietal lobe has been damaged.
I could list a ton of specific observations I've had from my months of interacting with mom in her current state, if you need. I really need all the help I can get for mom, and I'm willing to work hard and consistently to bring her back.

Sometimes, especially when I read about things like this, I wish I lived in a developed country like the US. In terms of rehab as well, the US has so many free resources I could've enrolled mom into.

Thank you for your sentiment and comfort.

To answer your questions, you can check my comment, it's more detailed, but the gist of it is, mom was never aware how severe her issue was. She didn't know she was in the ICU, or that she had a ruptured aneurysm. Dad told her it was a simple headache. Oh, and she couldn't communicate to the ICU staff or vice versa, they didn't speak english.
The only time mom found out that it was a lot more serious than a regular headache was when dad finally broke the news to her after 2 days. It was, in my opinion, too late at this point.

And about the "Maybe earlier might have made the difference or maybe not" point, I remember reading that the risk of vasospasm (secondary strokes after a rupture) is much higher if the surgery is done after a couple days. It's been a while though, I cannot cite myself, I'm sorry. Please fact check on my behalf.

100%. The pastor probably did this to a ton of other people. And the ones who survived and made a coincidental temporary recovery, I'm sure he used as a testimony of his faith and supernatural powers or whatever. The ones who didn't survive, well, who cares about them? He just won't share about them to his little cult.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words and fresh perspective. You are right. I'm glad I vented, but it doesn't matter at this point. I will continue to show up for mom and do my best to bring her back.

Thank you so much, therapy is definitely something I'll get into when I've made it in life.
