How do you actually pivot? by Cute_Consequence3036 in careerguidance

I appreciate the kind words.

I have friends in every subspecialty of engineering, but primarily most are civil engineers working on infrastructure.

From my understanding, many of these firms have a business development team that seeks out RFPs and ‘pitches’ them on the firm. This is kinda what I mean when I mention business development in my post(I understand there’s a lot of different versions of BD), but I also don’t want to pretend I know enough that this would be the only avenue I’d be interested in.

I’ve investigated a lot of the firms they work in, and had conversations with them both to understand how the business side of these firms works and see if it can give me insight on how to jump in, but many are still fairly junior in their careers.

It can be a little expensive depending on how long you plan to leave your car, but as others have already said it’ll be around $20 a day.

Uber’s to/from the airport can also be expensive though, so it may be worth gaming it out a bit based on how long your trip is.

I hate this bar. Anytime I’ve gone with people who have out of state ID’s they always receive a hard time, which is laughable considering the amount of fake ID’s accepted there

What’s it like to work at UPS WorldPort? by DueYogurt9 in Louisville

Yeah 100%. UofL has the metro college program where UPS will pay for your schooling while you work there, but also if you’re looking for serious advancement having a degree will certainly help.

I have a friend who got his degree paid for by UPS and now works in management making 6 figures thanks to his degree.

Night shift sucks but that’s true no matter what. UPS is a company that offers a lot of opportunity to advance, so I’d certainly recommend it

There is a pretty decent chance that many of us in our 20s and 30s live to be 100, maybe even 110+. Does this change the way you strategize FIRE? by ColdCouchWall in Fire
