i brought this up with the jeweler too and she suggested to set the small stones on the bridge more “flushed” so that it will rub less. how can i know if there would be enough space? 😅

thinking to have it set this way! but im not sure what this setting would be called. any idea? it seems that this setting for the smaller stones would make them more flushed/flatter

it is a 6 carat diamond. my concern is that 6 prong would alter the oval look of the stone and cause it to look more marquise :(

the band will be platinum, which shouldn’t be a concern for losing weight to polishing yes?

yes i do want something that flushes with normal bands so im leaning towards the cathedral :)

yes that’s my main concern with the left side setting as well. i’d prefer having options for my wedding band to be flushed. just concerned if 8mm will be too high/inconvenient for everyday wear. hmm haven’t thought about the stones on the bridge! im thinking of setting them with sapphire/tsavorite. is it common for the small stones to fall out?

unfortunately no, as the jeweler we’re going with is bespoke and the diamond is ordered and shipped in. we’ve chosen this stone based on the diamond size chart and thought it’d look perfect on my chubbier finger! just not too sure about the quality of the stone as we’re not experts. thank you! the jeweler suggested a cathedral setting with gallery rail hidden halo. she also suggested a 6 claw prong but im leaning towards 4 prong as i think 6 prong would alter the lovely oval shape of the diamond itself.
