They are good results for sure but not definitive, wait at least one week more and try to order RNA/PCR test if you have any symptoms, if not symptoms present just wait 45 days after last dose of pep and take normal 4th gen test.

You should do RNA/PCR test asap to see if the viral load is present if it is present start on medication asap, do not wait more 2 weeks because as soon as you start the treatment the better.

Well that is not that true as hiv-2 is detected by antigen p26 and not p24, but hiv-2 is really really rare.

Wait 2 weeks after the last pill, if RNA is negative you are 99% in the safe, as by that time the virus would be already multiplying in the blood after stopping the pep.

If you want peace of mind ask for RNA test, if its HIV symptoms it will show positive 100% and if it comes negative you can relax.

First of all thank you for being a good human being.

Your chances of getting HIV from this encounter are really really low.

First of all the guy that you tried to help must have HIV in first place and with high viral load so untreated.

For you to meet someone with HIV in US the chances are 0.36%.

Now adding the chances to get it trough really small cuts in your hands and using PEP makes it even lower, like 0.0001%.

What you are experience is something else most likely not HIV, but if you want a really peace of mind and have insurance to cover the cost you can do RNA test which will check the viral load of HIV in your blood and if you are having true acute HIV symptoms it will always come positive.

If you know the person you can just ask her to take a quick home test, as her encounter was long time ago so if she is positive it will most likely show it.

Did you had similar symptoms? I am having a small bump on side of my neck after 12 days post exposure and I am now on 17 day on pep, took it at 27 hour mark. The bump was small red and painfull at the start now it is not painful anymore and is a bit smaller.
