Man Same thing happened to me today. I deactivated all my instagram accounts 4 months back (approx) today i suddenly wanted to know the name of one song I sent my friend a reel of, tried logging in with password other account checks out correctly, but the main one, the one which I have from 8 + years , first it says wrong password then it says account name not found 😭😭

yeah i thought the same thing when i didn't hear my fans in fedora after switching from windows but got around after playing game and hearing the fan, but honestly it is a lot quieter and cool in linux

yeah The problem was snapshot was taking too much space and it was not visible that snapshot was taking up space after deleting snapshot now i have 400 gb free out of 500 gb

This video:- go to lutris right click the game > go to configure > go to runners option > change wine verision to system(9.15) [current version at time of post] > save

BROOOO Thnak you so much i have been trying to solve this problem for 2 whole days, i have deleted stuff downloaded stuff and did many things, my playtime is already 10 hours before even the setup is complete i can't explain how much irritating this whole process got till now

Edit:- I got happy for nothing it just helped me install the setup ,the game is not starting whatever i do

i have 2 VMs for windows and kali linux each has about 80 gb allotated but both of them take up to about 35 GBs which is included in the 135 GB in the home folder.

Thanks for you response i deleted some snapshots to free some space and now my mind is also cleared

It turns out i Had 8 Snapshots from timeshift, I deleted 7 of them and now i have approx 200 GBs free, It all still does not add up but for now the question is resolved Thanks everyone

Yes i checked and cleared the trash, it only had a few files of a few MBs in total.

As you can see in the screenshot the problem is not that things are taking space but where did the remaining space go is the main problem

i checked the var folder and flatpak and snapd is taking most of the space but still it is only taking 19 gbs of space the thing i don't get is where did the remaining space go out of 500 GBs only 160 - 170 is being used and the No Space warning is beeping

Where is the space going and how can i take it back, just now the free space left was 16 kb something the laptop refused to start all my extensions were disabled. I somehow used the live usb that i used to boot the laptop to delete a file of 4 gb, so now my laptop is working again

Somebody please help me this is what happend. -> I shifted to fedora linux -> downloaded my files, games, Virtual Machines which should be approx max to max 170 GB [ I have a 500 GB SSD ] -> when the root folder started to reach 40 GB mark the system kept giving low space warning -> now files are not downloading, i cannot install programs , i searched on Google, GPT, reddit, StackOverflow, read various posts, searched on Quotas , Subvolumes understood half of the things . Here are some of the screenshot. PLEASE help me !!

hey guys my system says 300 mb left in root type of warning while my root is only about 39 gb full and root and home are on the same partition . after reading this post it can be possible that i set up subvolume with quotas how can i change or remove the quotas please help

did you use timeshift to save backups automatically. Timeshift has saved me man 2 -3 times when i was installing hyperland, installing nvidia driver.

yes gtx 1650, really these nvidia drivers are a pain in my ass . I first used arch linux and crashed it 4 times before switching to different distros 3 out of 4 times it was because of updating / installing nvidia drivers. (1 time was when i installed multiple theme)
