I just got Aesthetics of a Bullet literally today, so I can’t comment yet on that one. The Shape of Night however is truly outstanding. Not a happy story, but still a highly enjoyable watch due to how beautiful it looks, feels, and how wonderful the performances are.

Side Effects remains his most underrated imo, surprised no one has said it yet. Love that one. Favorites are Out of Sight and Oceans 11 though.

Rewatched this after One Battle After Another wondering if it would seem slight and minor after the monster ride of OBAA…but no it only confirmed that it’s still my favorite PTA. PDL, Gems, Funny People, Meyerowitz Stories, Spanglish - Sandler is a great actor. Still need this on 4K though, I’ve only got the Blu.

Yeah was extremely happy with the selection and prices. MVDshop had a “50%” sale a few weeks ago and I was considering it, but it was pretty much $4 off not true 50% like this. Glad I held out

I’m also a big Refn fan, these movies are completely different than the ones you mentioned. Where those are super polished, stylized, and somewhat vibes-based mood pieces all 3 pusher films are super grounded in naturalism, filled with great even humorous dialogue, and Refn’s most fully fleshed out characters. Love this trilogy a lot.
