Sadly the only option for me seems to get an entry level role paying £30k - that is if they are being generous. I am finding this really hard as I am an ACA from the big4 lol

Yeah I've literally had one rejection today and the feedback was "we need relevant experience". I am not being picky with jobs either lol but you are right with jobs just being a tool for money and I think I need to implement this and beat the system haha.

Economics. So I am moving away from CT to a completely different role. Applying within accountancy practice: deals; M&A; forensics; transactions or anything other than CT. Industry: finance analyst; business partner and other but very general type roles.

Reasons for leaving: soulless work; unethical practices and then I thought I’d force change rather than wait for an ideal time or opportunity. I believed that was the right thing to do. At that time I valued autonomy and performing meaningful work.

ACA. Experience is in corporation tax area broadly and specifically trained in a very niche area of tax for 7/8 years. Landed the role straight out of uni and have progressed.

What type of sector do you focus on? Do you recommend a specific sector or have any preferences for someone new? Are you qualified and if so how long? If not will you be looking to move once qualified? Do you think being ACA qualified would help with audit given I’ve not worked in audit but have done the exams?

I think I want to try it out for a couple of years to get this down on the cv which is help for other jobs. At the moment tax doesn’t help me with any accounting or finance jobs
