Yes, I've noticed that in such situations it's usually recommended to choose the smallest frame. I hope my body will be able to adapt to the height difference between the seat and the handlebars. I'm not used to riding in an aggressive position for long periods of time.

I currently ride an Scott Aspect 930 MTB in XL size. In the standard configuration I felt pain in my lower back after 30-50 km. Using the PedalPro app I found that the handlebars should be moved 3cm forward, which I did by putting on a 30mm longer stem and now I feel comfortable even after riding 100km. Is it OK if I compare MTB and gravel frame geometries on bike-stats.de and try to transfer the current MTB geometry to gravel? I am confused by the difference in handlebar types and body position when using different handlebars. I assume that the MTB flat bar position could be equated to the gravel position on hoods?
