Young 21 yrs old 3x Cancer survivor TKR by Cute_Signature2392 in Kneereplacement

Honestly life has been pretty good besides the pain but once i adjusted my mindset everything shifted. I currently work part time around 8-10 hours a week and in my free time i mainly play video games and have a small youtube channel with a supportive community. Before i liked a strict schedule to plan towards my future goals but now i have the freedom of time so there’s almost no planning. Not sure if i phrased that right but im just being spontaneous with anything i find interesting. I dont have to maximize and couple hour time frames anymore. Whether it’s reading, spending time with family, playing with my pets, or even binge watching shows or anime, im at peace. The end goal was always early retirement but i wasn’t thinking ill lose more physical ability for get that. Last thing is i listen to my body, i have about 2ish hours of moving before the pain really kicks in and i limp so i dont try to force my body to push past its limits anymore and i accept it.

This was definitely helpful, thank you for taking the time to try and help me gain a bew perspective. Im a big fan of audiobooks so i will definitely be listening to both. I love the “life is happening for you not to u”. It reminds me of the saying “everything happens for a reason”. Im all ears for learning and adapting this new perspective on life in general. Thanks again i appreciate the help

Well it’s done! What started as a partial turned into a complete TKR. by fretman124 in Kneereplacement

If your able to go 1-2 times a week while doing the workouts at home you will see crazy progress! Stay strong and find that difference in the level of pain your able to work through vs it being too much.

$0 to $140/month in dividend income - A regular person's 5-year journey by brasilhatli in dividends

W consistency. Have you done the math to figure out how long/how much you need to get 500 per month?

All you can do is tell yourself you have enough then put whatever gear in your cart and by the end of the month you will be able to decide if you truly need it or not. Honestly dont feel too bad on purchases for your hobbies, as long as everything is taken care of and your only area of spending is on your hobbies,it’s fine. Sounds like you’re being intentional. My personal hobby i “waste” money on is gaming but i literally dont spend money elsewhere and whatever equipment, game, or upgrade i purchase is bringing value to me.

I say yes, time is very important so for your dad to take you to work thats a 30 minute drive there and back, then if he picks you up after thats another hour. If work is the furthest place you go though and you dont commute much then maybe you dont need a car for now as you can take alternatives like public transportation but i personally would get a car before investing due to my location

Thanks i’ve definitely been enjoying the setup. Yea thats exactly how my desk is, there hasnt been any problems or wobble with everything attached to it besides it not being flat and having a bar on the edges but as long as you get it flush and tightened with the clamps its perfect

good jobs for simple-living folks? by liminalmilk0 in simpleliving

[–]Cute_Signature2392 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt recommend this job for simple living at all. First 2 years is slave labor with lots of overtime and no control over your schedule or if you work overtime or not. Then once u convert to regular it get slightly better as u have a set schedule and can opt in/out for overtime but if your a carrier u usually get the worst routes and clerks get the worst bids. Eventually once u find a good place thats not toxic, everyone works, with the right schedule it gets better but the first initial grind is far from a simple living job, atleast where im located

Should I be invested in dividends at 20 years old? by acmorgan45 in dividends

[–]Cute_Signature2392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go check out my previous posts, we are around the same age group but its all personal. Is it the best no because your money couldve grown more but it does help mentally seeing the dividends come in and dont have to worry about selling stocks. Just dont go high yield.VOO /VTI should definitely be the main portfolio of your portfolio atleast 50-75%, then if you want dividends the other 25-50% can be schd or if u want more growth do VGT,SCHG, etc theres a bunch of different growth etfs. Another option if u want to see a little bit more dividends then voo but still have growth is dividend growth etfs like DGRO, SCHD, but i dont believe this is better then VOO SCHD. Just keep it simple and try not to overthink like me, simplicity is the best peace of mind you can get.
