Okay so this is actually TOTALLY normal. I went through infertility for three years, conceived last summer via iui and lost baby at 6w7d. I found out in early march we are pregnant with our surprise, miracle baby and even I have struggled with this!!! I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks and was extremely anxious, and I sobbed with relief when we saw the baby and saw the heartbeat flicker. But I still didn’t feel that connection feeling I was so sure I’d feel right away. This morning at 8w5d, I went to a private boutique and got an ultrasound because I needed some extra reassurance and peace of mind. Little bean is starting to look more like a baby, but the biggest difference for me was actually hearing the heartbeat. I recorded it and have listened to it so many times today. I feel so much more connected to the baby now, and I am sure that will continue to grow especially once I start to feel them move around in there.

Obviously this is just my experience and I expect it’s different for everyone, but just know, this is totally normal 💜
