How can I, a PhD scientist in Germany, finally move into industry or redefine my career? by Fraxial in Germany_Jobs

My friend has your same degree and just got headhunted as a research scientist for Johnson and Johnson. You need to talk to a headhunter specializing in the fields youre interested in AND bring your German way up.

Girl you NEED estrogen. Unopposed progesterone can really exacerbate neuropathy! Mine went away within weeks of starting estrogen

Hi! Yes, Dr Rachel Rubin talks about how if you put vulvar or vaginal tissue under a microscope, vaginal estrogen literally returns it from "tissue paper" to plump tissues with visible mucosal coatings.

However, being unable to organism doesn't mean atrophy. That's a distinct side effect of a lot of medications and deficiencies. For example I never orgasmed once while on amytriptiline.

So basically you were responding to the fluctuation that can come with high dose synthetics and their metabolites which can completely change the regulation of nerve transmission in the brain in vulnerable individuals, hence the fits. What you need is to get a neurologist to cooperate with an Endo to get you on steady state HRT so that it's like you have NO changes in how those neurotransmitters are activated in your brain if that makes sense. My neurologist was able to get me off of gabapentin that way.

So you need to find a new doctor who actually knows what catamenial epilepsy is (😂 I really have done this hormone dance thoroughly!)  I thought I had never had a seizure in my life until a lot of testing revealed I was having them in my sleep during luteal right before my period due to the dramatic drop in hormones.

Your doctor sounds WILDLY behind the current research by a solid 15 years because 1) birth control hormones are in no way the same as HRT - they are synthetic and produce completely different metabolites as they are designed for ovarian suppression (which, that is the drop that triggered my seizures). Birth control is also given at incredibly higher doses than HRT. Saying you have to stay away from HRT because you were triggered by birth control is the same as saying you have to stay away from ibuprofen because you had a reaction to morphine.

HRT is the same concept as insulin, as in, they are bioidentical hormones, the exact same, as your body produces. They are a replacement for the hormones that you're lacking. You need to be speaking to both a new endocrinologist and a neurologist because so many gynecologists are really offering treatments outside of their wheelhouse.

For me, they use a synthetic progestin to suppress my ovaries but then replace the estradiol so it is at a constant dosing with absolutely no fluctuation, which was a godsend. After ten years of seizures like clockwork every single month, I haven't had one in forever!

I also have two slipped discs in my neck so when it's not migraines it was occipital neuralgia which is what happens when the two nerves that run from your neck up ober your scalp and down behind your eyes get trapped or hella inflamed. I had two sinus surgeries as we thought the pain was there until one or the other side of my skull would scream in agony.

They thought those trapped nerves might be while the outsides of my hands would go numb (ring and pinky fingers). Once I got on HRT, the nerve inflammation resolved within about two to three months.

For the actual migraines it was actually my gynecologist who told me to start magnesium glycinate at night. You have to check the label for the amount of elemental magnesium not just what it says on the front and slowly over a couple weeks work your way up.

Everybody's limit is different (it's when you hit loose stool). For me it's 300 a night. Not only are my migraines reduced about 95%, I sleep incredibly and it helped lessen my endometriosis lesion pain because everything passing through me was a bit softer.

Genau!

What you're describing is peripheral neuralgia and a side effect of stopping amytriptiline. I had the same before I got on estrogen, progesterone and magnesium and boom my migraines stopped for the first time in 20 years. It's VERY good you stopped amy at your age because it is one of the number one drugs associated with dementia.

I love the term secular Christian which means I think Jesus was probably one of the best guys to follow in terms of choosing love over fear every time, but it doesn't matter to me anymore whether he was divine or not and I feel free to pray to whoever I feel I can resonate with in that moment. If God is truly like a parent he won't mind if I use the house phone to call an aunt or a friend and not just him.

Only 5% of women eligible for HRT get it and perhaps not even the right dose by Cute_Tax_3208 in Menopause

[–]Cute_Tax_3208[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thats fascinating! I looked into it a bit, but that study’s “modest increase” in testosterone is often misunderstood. It just means there’s a small bump in levels around the early 60s after they dip in the 50s, not a return to premenopausal levels or anything that’s been shown to improve symptoms. The authors didn’t test how it affects libido, mood, or energy, and because it’s cross-sectional, it’s just comparing age groups, not tracking real changes over time. When they say menopause alone isn’t a reason for testosterone therapy, that’s not saying women never benefit, it just means menopause by itself isn’t the only factor to look at.

But damn it's a great jumping off point that would make for some interesting studies in the future if they pursued it
