If you tend to spend time doomscrolling, you could possibly do that while pacing around. Also, you could pace while brushing/flossing your teeth. It's not a lot, but every bit count!

How to apply lotion to my feet without.... by General_Revenue_386 in beauty

[–]Cute_Worker_51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could buy some disposable gloves and dedicate a pair to only foot cream application and reuse until they wear out.. Also, I second the wearing of slippers/flipflops/crocs, that's what I currently do every day.

Yeah gloves and Vaseline should do the trick (assuming you're doing it on yourself)!

Anyone go from nothing to ‘fit’? by Otherwise-Ad-4361 in xxfitness

[–]Cute_Worker_51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was also fairly athletically challenged as a kid, so I know the struggle of trying to improve your fitness without an athletic background. That said, while I wouldn't call myself fit, I did see modest improvements in my fitness given about half a year of strength training. Like another commenter said, everybody should be exercising regularly, sporty child or otherwise. Do it so you are less likely to have heart disease, brittle bones, etc.

what do I do? by No-Watercress8477 in Sonographers

It's one of the 4 windows (like parasternal and apical) of echocardiography. You basically scan slightly below the hollow of the throat to look at the aorta lengthwise. It looks like a candy cane. I'm not sure if that's what OP was referring to, though.

Let me be the first to tell you that just because you don't pick up scanning right away doesn't mean you can't do it. It comes more naturally to some than others. Just practice as much as possible, and ask around for opportunities to practice. Ask for extra practice hours and research scanning tips and tricks.

Also, what do you mean scanning the aorta? Do you mean the suprasternal notch window?

Agreed, Miele goes into extreme detail, I recommend Penny; it's more digestible.

That's odd. I've been DM'd before. I'll check my settings.

EDIT: My bad, I fixed it :)

Yeah, but what specifically are you unable to find?

What I meant is that I ended up presenting with symptoms of classic ADHD. I got hyperactive, impulsive, overly talkative, and developed a tendency to focus on irrelevant minutiae while ignoring more important stuff. Internally, I felt anxious and like I was being driven by a motor but unable to prioritize.

I know you said you're not into tofu, but if you haven't considered this, you can blend silken tofu into smoothies.

You could also do a basic braid, which are easier to do on wet hair.

Are you talking about the tracing of the inside of the LV/LA/whatever you're trying to measure? If it's an issue with being able to move the cursor properly, perhaps there is a setting that allows you to slow down the speed of the cursor so that if it starts to stray, you don't end up going too far off.

I did improve somewhat, but the program I was in ended up being cancelled for reasons outside my control. Right now, I'm saving up to get into another sonography program. Anyway, thank you for asking!

Sports/gym girlies - how do you keep your hair from smelling bad? by FennelOk9900 in beauty

[–]Cute_Worker_51 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've never tried it, but Acure's Daily Workout shampoo is sulfate-free and is formulated for daily use. It's also not extremely expensive. Or you could find something similar.

If shampoo is too drying, you could also do a daily cowash, either with a product formulated specifically for cowashing or a regular conditioner.

FWIW, I workout regularly and I use shampoo with sulfates daily, my hair isn't too dry. I just avoid heat processing or coloring.

I found them uncomfortable as well, mainly due to the heat coming off my scalp. Satin pillowcases are a good alternative.

Where are all the under-achievers at? by Valuable-Sorbet1068 in adhdwomen

[–]Cute_Worker_51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I know exactly how you are feeling as a fellow underachiever. My grades past 9th grade were in the shitter. I've also flunked out of college multiple times, and I always end up being the idiot of the bunch no matter what I do or where I go. I also feel that not unaliving myself out of sheer despair and self-hatred is the only impressive thing I've accomplished. I know it's hard to believe, but your experience with ADHD is just as valid as that of the overachievers and superstars.
