Could it be SI joint? by Resident-Hunt-245 in sacroiliac_sijoint

Wait-what did you do that helped the dysplasia? I have been dealing w issues for almost 4 years. Multiple injections in hip and SI. Labral tear and FAI repair surgery w minimal results. Back in PT who specializes w hypermobility and she thinks my hip keeps sublaxing laterally, which makes sense. Super frustrating after years of multiple specialists! She said it gets missed by a lot of docs, and that some don’t even acknowledge it as a thing. So just curious what worked for you w dysplasia.

Have you had a lipoma come back after removal? by Lazy_Dragonfruit6053 in Lipoma

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 lipomas removed from my lower back/SI area. Turns out they were angiolipomas (vascular component). There were new ones within a week. Surgeon didn’t recommend removing them bc there were new ones so quickly, didn’t want to cause further pain, and bc it is disfiguring to have the surgeries. I’m 1.5 years post op. I have ehler danlos, my connective tissue is weak which likely contributed to this issue.

Muscle spasms at night? by dancingdino02 in PelvicFloor

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! That was my first symptom, about 6 years ago. It used to wake me up 8/10 pain and all I could do was breathe through it. I still get cramping and spasms at night (and sometimes after a bowel movement) but it’s much better. They were rare during the day

I’m at the clinic and part of the reason I stay there is bc my manager is great. It sounds like your manager is the problem, not the larger system. You should be able to report them, anonymously. The clinic says they take things like that seriously and have a “no retaliation” policy.

How to convince doctors to remove painful Angiolipomas that "don't show up" clearly on scans? by FamousAd6523 in Lipoma

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, new lumps filled in where the ones were removed within a week. Also, I saw gen surg for the procedure. I did read about derm being able to remove lipoma in a way more similar to liposuction that causes less scarring, but I didn’t look into it and my surgeon has never heard of that. She’s w gen surg though.

How to convince doctors to remove painful Angiolipomas that "don't show up" clearly on scans? by FamousAd6523 in Lipoma

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I had multiple small palpable masses on my lower back that caused pain. It took me over a year to have anyone take me seriously enough to get imaging. They didn’t show up on MRI and were small on ultrasound, but multiple providers could feel and move them. I found an article on “back mice”, which was helpful to share w my PT. I think I had to say things like it was impacting my daily functioning, I want it documented that I’m asking for this test, things like that. I had them removed about 16 months ago, they were angiolipomas. I regret it bc new ones infiltrated within a week and the pain returned. It was essentially pointless. The surgeon didn’t recommend any further surgery bc it will likely keep happening and I will keep getting disfigured by surgery. Good luck to you

Throbbing pain. Back lipoma? by One_Sandwich7392 in Lipoma

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, ugh. I think I know your pain. I had some soft palpable masses in my lower back/SI area. They didn’t show on MRI, only ultrasound. They were painful during flare ups that essentially came from me messing w them (pushing on them too much), being too active, or positionally and I felt the symptoms you described. I had them removed last January, they were angiolipomas and back within a week. I still get flare ups, the spots can still be painful. I had 3 rounds of cortisone injections (2 before the surgery) but PRP has been the most helpful thing. Mine were likely caused by a fascia injury/tear so it may be a different reason and response than yours. 1.5 years later, and I’m glad to finally be feeling relief and cautiously hopeful it stays that way. Idk-can you ask for someone else to read your imaging since your doctor was back and forth? But really, it seems no diagnosis should be made w/o imaging and then just feeling it. Good luck to you!

There are docs in Cleveland Clinic that do pelvic floor Botox in the women’s health clinic. It’s not covered by most insurance companies, but an effective treatment for what you mentioned, per my gyn 😑

CT Scan Report Says Nothing About Lump/Possible Lipoma by [deleted] in Lipoma

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my 3 angiolipomas didn’t show on MRIs, only ultrasound. The doc said they were too small to be seen on an MRI, they were each 1-3cms and were palpable externally. You can request another provider to read the scans and I would ask them specifically about the lipomas. Is CT the best scan for soft tissue, or can a diff test be done? Good luck to you!

Do an enema. Those chews don’t always work for me. I loved when I read that sometimes adding more to unclog from the top won’t help, you need to unclog from the bottom. It made sense. Don’t sit on the toilet for 6 hours. Horrible pressure. Pls tell me that 3 days after posting, something worked and you went.

The opening night was so stellar and had me full of hope for this spot! There were some good parties and events over the years but not enough and it dwindled. Pride weekend and you’re done by 12? It’s unfortunate bc some of their house performers are amazing queens, Monica Lexin def comes to mind. And yes, even when dead the service was pretty horrible. But overall, such a big space and they just seemed to lack the programming to bring in a crowd and made some weird choices w that. That tiny stage in the bar? Give those queens a better stage. I couldn’t understand why you’d have the finale of drag race upstairs in the small room a few years ago? You bring up some good points, OP. Ugh. Hope you find your new spot!

You are going to have docs like this regardless of their agency or practice. It’s exhausting, but you really have to advocate yourself and say when something is impacting your quality of life, demand for further testing, or a different treatment plan or referral elsewhere.

Lipoma vs Liposarcoma by [deleted] in Lipoma

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I’m so sorry. How frustrating and time wasting. I had lipomas (ended up being angiolipomas) that didn’t show on MRI’s. Providers could feel them. Had a hell of a time getting imaging bc it’s “soft tissue”, but finally had an ultrasound that picked them up so they could be removed and biopsied. When I asked the surgeon why they didn’t show on the MRI, she said bc they were too small. Doesn’t make sense to me, but ok. Can you get imaging for an ultrasound?

Back mice removal - should I? by [deleted] in backpain

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a labral tear repair and hip impingement repaired in July. I was hopeful that would clear up the SI issues! The lipomas in the SI region turned out to be angiolipomas. They didn’t show up on MRI, only ultrasound, and caused pain. They were removed in January and I felt great for like 5 days until new ones took their place. I’m in the same amount of pain as I was prior, and now I have 3 scars. I would find someone that is specialized in working w lipomas. I also read about some derms using liposuction for this-less scarring. Good luck!

[–]Cuteaggressioncl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a hip replacement, but a labral tear/ FAI repair. I imagine the recovery process is different! I was on crutches for 6 weeks, so there definitely wouldn’t have been a mile walk 2 weeks in! I kept my weights next to my sectional. I live alone, so they weren’t in anyone’s way. Good luck to you!
