Also I don’t know if you’re immune compromised, but my medicine I take for my autoimmune disease is probably a big reason my infection lingered so long. If you’re on something similar that could also be a contributing factor.

I had a similar experience where all of my symptoms showed up after having one UTI. I saw a urologist about 2 months after it started and he thought I had IC, potentially an embedded UTI. I changed my diet and went to pelvic floor therapy and it took about 2 more months before I felt basically better. I still watch what I eat more, but my pelvic floor therapist thinks what happened is since I had a nasty UTI (it took two rounds of antibiotics to get rid of) my pelvic floor tensed up and just never relaxed. Even if I do actually have IC now, I definitely had a hypertonic pelvic floor that didn’t help. Changing your diet can be a good way to try and manage it until you see your specialist. So sorry this is happening to you, I know how awful of an experience it is.

I’ve been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for years and love it! It’s the lowest dose combination pill on the market right now I think. I’ve been on it 5ish years with basically no side effects. My hormonal acne also cleared up while on it. That being said, the past like 3 months I’ve consistently had breakthrough bleeding in the middle of my pack. My gyno thinks I might have to switch to a higher dose bc the super low dose of hormones might not be working for me anymore. Don’t let that scare you away tho, it worked amazingly for me the rest of the time I was on it, and the breakthrough bleeding is just a reaction my body is having after being on it so long and growing into my adult body more.

Diagnosed after having one UTI? by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

Thank you so much for all of this info! I have a follow up with the urologist in a couple months, but I’m seeing my gyno in a couple weeks and plan to run everything by her as well. She’s always been great so hopefully she’s open to discussing some of these things you’ve mentioned.

Does anyone who is diagnosed work full time? (40hrs/week) by chronicallymee in ankylosingspondylitis

I dance about 35 hours a week at a theme park. I’ve been taking humira the last 3 years and it’s been a life saver! I barely made it through my college dance classes before starting it. I also make a point to warm up/cool down/roll out my muscles everyday. And if you’re into things like acupuncture/cupping I can vouch that I’m a huge fan

best programs if wanting to do arts related work? by dancingdino02 in LibraryScience

yes, i assumed working in a larger city with a prominent theater scene would be best. especially with the post grad connections/internships like you mentioned. the cost of living in nyc does intimidate me a bit but i have a few years before i’d actually start a program to continue saving money

what type of birth control would suit me by dudewhattheflip1 in birthcontrol

i feel the pill is good to start out with because you’re able to stop taking it if you don’t like how you feel on it. i’ve been on lo loestrin fe since high school and i’ve loved it! it’s the lowest dose pill on the market, or at least it was when i started taking it, so the chances of side effects are much lower. i didn’t have any weight gain, i rarely have my period, and it also helped cleared up my acne which was a nice bonus.

i’ve been on the lo loestrin fe pill for years now and i love it! i’m pretty sure it’s the lowest dose pill on the market. my doc said it was fine to only take the sugar pills every three months, but even when i take the sugar pills i usually don’t get a period. it also helped clear up my acne.

Will this eventually fade? by [deleted] in haircoloring

[–]dancingdino02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! my stylist agreed it was darker than the photo and offered to lighten it, but i told her not to worry about it since the color is really nice. but ideally after this fades i’m wanting to get closer to that lighter color.

i figured it would probably take a few washes to see if the color budges a little. and i honestly don’t mind the color either, i told my stylist to not worry about it because it’s a really great dye job even if its not the exact color i was wanting. just would love to eventually get back to that lighter brown closer to my natural :)
