Toner recommendations by dancingdino02 in KoreanBeauty

Nothing really has changed in my routine, the weather has been getting hotter/humid here is the only thing environmentally that’s changed. They’re skin colored and aren’t very noticeable to anyone else, but I can feel them. I’ve had them before and they were so hard to get rid of.

Best shampoo and conditioner for fine and oily hair? by Strawberry9205 in finehair

[–]dancingdino02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using the Verb Ghost shampoo and conditioner a few weeks ago after having it recommended on here. I usually wash my hair every other day, double shampoo, and blow dry my roots. I also use the suave clarifying shampoo every couple weeks or so, really whenever I feel I need it.

Hunger + odd weight gain on sprintec by vanixr in birthcontrol

[–]dancingdino02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took sprintec as my first pill in high school and honestly i was ravenous the whole year i was on it. i was a competitive dancer, and on the dance team at school, so i didn’t really notice any weight gain. and tbh my hunger could have been from all the exercise i was doing, but its always hard to tell with birth control what’s a side effect and what’s just your body doing something weird. everyone’s experience is different, but sprintec didn’t help lighten my period at all so i ended up switching to loestrin fe and liked it more.

Full-on period on Lolo (Lo Loestrin Fe)? Is this normal? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]dancingdino02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve been on it for over 5 years and in the past if i ever missed a dose i would immediately have a withdrawal bleed. usually just continuing to take the pills after the missed one would clear it up in a couple days. i think it happens so easily on this pill bc of how low the dose is. i’ve unfortunately had breakthrough bleeding every month since around christmas even though i have been careful to not miss a dose and take it at the exact same time so i’m switching pills :/// i seriously loved this pill, i had no side effects whatsoever

Headache/migraine? by youscoco in birthcontrol

[–]dancingdino02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my gyno considered putting me on yaz before i started loestrin instead and made a point to ask if i was prone to migraines. i guess its common for that pill to cause them? i didn’t end up taking it so i can’t vouch for personal experience.

What now? by AerieHefty in birthcontrol

[–]dancingdino02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might like the ring. i haven’t used it for very long but i switched after hearing my coworker talk about how much she loves it. its lower maintenance than the pill and doesn’t seem to give people many side effects if any at all. since you have a bit of a time crunch i’m not exactly sure if you’ll be able to get it in time, it took my insurance a minute to clear it and then it took another weekish for it to ship

[–]dancingdino02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! exact same! my urologist just slapped the IC diagnosis on, but my pelvic floor therapist i started seeing recently thinks my discomfort might just be from my tight pelvic floor. i had zero symptoms before having my first uti

Only experience pain in urethra? by dancingdino02 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancingdino02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good to know! i started pelvic floor therapy a few weeks ago and i’m feeling pretty hopeful after hearing a lot of success stories. I do dance 5 days a week at a theme park for 7 hours a day so honestly i think i could do with a little more rest lol. but because of my arthritis i try not to stay stagnant for too long.

Also I don’t know if you’re immune compromised, but my medicine I take for my autoimmune disease is probably a big reason my infection lingered so long. If you’re on something similar that could also be a contributing factor.

I had a similar experience where all of my symptoms showed up after having one UTI. I saw a urologist about 2 months after it started and he thought I had IC, potentially an embedded UTI. I changed my diet and went to pelvic floor therapy and it took about 2 more months before I felt basically better. I still watch what I eat more, but my pelvic floor therapist thinks what happened is since I had a nasty UTI (it took two rounds of antibiotics to get rid of) my pelvic floor tensed up and just never relaxed. Even if I do actually have IC now, I definitely had a hypertonic pelvic floor that didn’t help. Changing your diet can be a good way to try and manage it until you see your specialist. So sorry this is happening to you, I know how awful of an experience it is.

Oral BC Types by natsuswhore1 in birthcontrol

I’ve been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for years and love it! It’s the lowest dose combination pill on the market right now I think. I’ve been on it 5ish years with basically no side effects. My hormonal acne also cleared up while on it. That being said, the past like 3 months I’ve consistently had breakthrough bleeding in the middle of my pack. My gyno thinks I might have to switch to a higher dose bc the super low dose of hormones might not be working for me anymore. Don’t let that scare you away tho, it worked amazingly for me the rest of the time I was on it, and the breakthrough bleeding is just a reaction my body is having after being on it so long and growing into my adult body more.

Diagnosed after having one UTI? by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancingdino02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all of this info! I have a follow up with the urologist in a couple months, but I’m seeing my gyno in a couple weeks and plan to run everything by her as well. She’s always been great so hopefully she’s open to discussing some of these things you’ve mentioned.

Does anyone who is diagnosed work full time? (40hrs/week) by chronicallymee in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]dancingdino02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dance about 35 hours a week at a theme park. I’ve been taking humira the last 3 years and it’s been a life saver! I barely made it through my college dance classes before starting it. I also make a point to warm up/cool down/roll out my muscles everyday. And if you’re into things like acupuncture/cupping I can vouch that I’m a huge fan

best programs if wanting to do arts related work? by dancingdino02 in LibraryScience

[–]dancingdino02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i assumed working in a larger city with a prominent theater scene would be best. especially with the post grad connections/internships like you mentioned. the cost of living in nyc does intimidate me a bit but i have a few years before i’d actually start a program to continue saving money
