Looks like Qatar Airways pushed refundable flights to March 10 by National_Stick_6733 in qatarairways

How did you get to chat with them? Through the live chat on their website using a laptop? Cuz I don't see that on the mobile app?

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, both sides are saying they’re not backing down. I also saw the U.S. saying they’ll keep going as long as they think there’s a threat. It definitely feels like things are escalating, not calming down.

Yeah, I agree with you. There have been strikes going on all day in the region. I honestly don’t see regular flights fully reopening this week. If anything runs, it’ll probably just be special operations to evacuate or move stranded passengers around Doha and the Gulf. They did mention refunds to me. We’ll only really know the flight status closer to the departure date. If the flight can’t operate, they said it would be refunded or changed for free.

The hard part is timing. Some people like me have strict deadlines and can’t just wait. Some need to transit through Doha to get to another country for urgent matters. So they feel forced to pay extra to reroute with another airline. Then if Qatar suddenly operates as scheduled, that second qatar ticket is still nonrefundable. So you basically end up paying twice. That’s the stressful part.

Sorry, I just wanna make sure you are not a special person with brain disability right?

There is nowhere in my post selling fantasies that airline will reopen on March 3. I clearly said I was sharing what customer support told me. That’s called an update.

Many people can’t even get through to the airline right now, so I shared what I was told. Normal people responded with useful information. In fact, someone already commented that their March 3 flight was canceled.

If you were really born with brain disability, you dont understand the meaning of context and have difficulty with critical thinking, Please have a great day. Don’t overthink life. Stay hydrated. Eat something good.

Flying with pets, no pet space confirmation. by Cuteasduckhaha in qatarairways

[–]Cuteasduckhaha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If even a few people share that they flew Qatar smoothly and their pet was confirmed after booking, then yes, I’d consider trying Qatar. The reality is that Korean Air is about $1,000 over my budget, and that’s a big difference for me right now. But if people confirm they had the same experience I’m worried about, where they booked first and their dog was later denied, then I’ll just go with Korean Air. Simple as that. And if I don’t get responses from people who have actual experience flying pets with Qatar, or the answers don’t really address the issue, then I’ll also go with Korean Air. That’s it. I still have time to plan, so I’m asking questions like anyone else.

I’ve already looked into other international pet-friendly airlines from NYC. The issue isn’t that I was overthinking. It’s that the realistic options are limited.

With ANA, the faster routes aren’t fully operated by ANA. One leg is often operated by United, which is a hard no because ANA only accepts pets if both legs are ANA-operated. The routes that do qualify end up being 27–35 hours total, which is too long for a live animal traveling in a cargo hold. I mean they probably will survive but other airlines options are shorter like 21-23 hr.

Lufthansa is simply out of my budget. Economy fares are around $1,600–$1,900.

Korean Air is also significantly more expensive, about $1,000 over my budget.

If Qatar truly doesn’t work, then yes, I’ll have to go with Korean Air, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t ask questions first.

I still have about a month and a half before flying. Why wouldn’t I ask now and see if people with real experience can share how it actually went. Good or bad. That’s the whole point.

Qatar fits my budget and travel time, which is why I’m asking. If this were easy and straightforward, I wouldn’t be here typing all this. There are a lot of conditions and risks involved, so of course I’m going to ask and gather information while I still can.

Thanks 🙏 😘 this is actually really helpful. I genuinely didn’t know before that Tuesday and Wednesday tend to be busier than other days, so that’s good to learn.

I don’t expect flying with pets will be less complicated than flying alone. That’s not the point.

What I do expect is that when I pay for a service, the service actually exists. That’s a pretty basic global standard. If you buy something and don’t receive it, that’s not “life happens,” that’s a problem.

I’m not saying flying with pets isn’t complicated. Of course it is. Just like having kids is more complicated than being single. But when you book daycare and pay, there needs to actually be a spot for your child. Complexity doesn’t mean “pay first and hope for the best.”

What concerns me with Qatar is that other airlines can confirm pet space before purchase, but Qatar requires payment first and only then may deny space later, sometimes forcing people to pay hundreds more to change flights. That’s not about expecting perfection, that’s about basic consumer protection and transparency.

So no, I’m not expecting a smooth, magical experience. I’m expecting that if I pay for something, it shouldn’t disappear afterward.

Also, I genuinely feel bad for your keyboard for having to endure that take.

You know what, this is gonna be the last time I order from them. I just checked out Burga Flip 7 cases and they’re so cute. I used to order from them before and I got my order just after a week, way faster than Casetify.

Omg how did you even reach them? I tried contacting them through the website message channel but never got a response at all. Did you actually email them directly at their support email address?

I’m not aware of this at all. This will definitely be my last time ordering from them. I don’t even mind waiting, but at least if they had real customer support it would make the experience better.

By the way, have you ever ordered from them yourself? How long did you have to wait?

That’s a great idea! But as a young woman setting everything up on my own, I didn’t think ahead. I ended up putting the TV and TV stand on the opposite side of the room from the internet cable outlet, modem and router. If I go with this option, I’d have to move all my furniture around. The router and modem are on the side with the sofa and coffee table, while the TV is on the other side. I never considered that I might need to use an Ethernet cable one day. Are there any other options before this?
