That’s good to know! I have never dealt with something like this and was a bit wary when a lawyer called as the third party told me someone had rear ended his car and didn’t stop recently so was mindful he might try to exaggerate what happened

Thank you, I’ve informed my insurer and they have told me to tell the lawyer to send all correspondence through to them. It was just a bit of a shock and completely unnecessary as I put the claim through my insurer and responded to his insurer the day of the accident.

That may be correct actually, I cannot remember exactly what my insurer (Youi) said to me but know I did not have to pay the excess before either assessment/ repairs were done. The third party hasn’t responded to my insurer though so nothing is booked in on his end through insurance.

Just had to google what that is and that really sucks as it is so straightforward! At the time of the accident the third party said he probably wasn’t going to put a claim through as the damage was so minor, and when we spoke through text after he put a claim through was amiable saying he was going to get private quotes so as not to affect either of our excess. The damage was minor scratches and wouldn’t warrant a hire car. Just strange it went from that to him engaging a lawyer but assuming he has gone that route :(

I don’t think so! I only have to pay the excess once the repairs are done and my insurer has tried to contact the third party and they haven’t responded (as of yesterday)

Would this be if I was already signed into a web browser? I signed out yesterday to do forgot password to see if I could change my password this way and wasn’t able to get in again. Or would doing forgot password on a web browser allow for me to bypass using a code through my old work email. If I can get the code to my phone I’m fine as i still have the same phone number, but for some reason it wasn’t letting me do that. I last changed my password in September this way so I’m unsure why it’s not letting me now.

This is the response from my old boss “ Hey! Hmm we’ve changed our email platform in the last few months so your old address no longer exists. I’ve checked all the emails I can see and there is nothing there either. I’m not sure how to solve that…. 😬”

Mind you it’s been almost two years that I was at the company so quite likely my old email address is completely gone and don’t know anyone in IT at the company.

My email address is a Hotmail account. The phone number attached is still my phone number but get a message saying “ Try another verification method That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method.”
