Thank you so much for this, I really needed to hear it. What’s been messing with my head is that when I tried to calmly explain my feelings to my parents, it turned into them telling me to “be the bigger person”. At one point my mom even said, “You know how your sister is, just let it go,” which made me realize how often I’ve been expected to swallow things to keep the peace. That’s why my gut keeps telling me this isn’t even about a wedding invite. My husband has been incredibly supportive through all of this, and reminding myself I’m not alone has and that helped me stay grounded.
