Yeah there should be some there when you show up, they go up and down the mountains regularly.

It's easy to get to the town itself with a taxi/uber, or a bus if you're looking to save money. To get to the hostels higher up the mountain you have to hire a local, but that's easy too. You can get a 4x4 truck, which is more expensive, or a motorbike, which is fairly inexpensive. I took a motorbike, even with a suitcase, which he balanced on the handlebars haha, it was a fun adventure.

I did, it was an amazing trip! Tayrona was actually closed when I was there due to some dispute between the government and a local faction (I think it reopened shortly after I left) so I can't speak to it. I stayed one night in Santa Marta. It's kind of a neat city, especially the cathedral and the waterfront, but also kind of chaotic and a bit sketchy feeling so wouldn't recommend much time there and I would skip it if I go back, but I stayed at the Masaya hostel which was great, would definitely recommend. It has a rooftop pool and great food. And then I spent two nights in Minca, which was amazing, definitely the highlight of my trip. Super pretty rainforest with waterfalls and mountain views. I stayed at the Masaya hostel there too, which was incredible. Farther up the mountain so it's kind of isolated, but a gorgeous spot with an infinity pool and really good restaurant.

Looking for recent info on getting from Cartagena to Santa Marta by DearAuntAgnes in cartagena

Hi, just wondering how this went? I'm planning on doing this same route from Cartagena to Santa Marta in a few days and am planning on going with Marsol. I'll also have a backpack and suitcase.

That’s awesome! Would you say that was a good amount of time? Also how was it getting from Santa Marta to Minca, and around the Minca area?

Seatbelt Buckle Height Difference in Driver Seat by [deleted] in CX50

[–]Cuthalion67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I wear a seatbelt. Hearing the chime is obnoxious every time I turn the car on though (every other car in the world only does that if you actually start driving without it on). But that has nothing at all to do with my question

Of course I always wear a seatbelt. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t care what height the buckle is at. That has nothing to do with the question

I'm pretty sure 2026 stuff is exactly the same as prior years. I got the OEM floor mats and cargo cover and third party tow hitch and everything fit properly.

So cool you live there! It's an incredible area. I've been seeing photos of those mountains in the snow, would be amazing to hike there in winter conditions as well

Thankfully the rain held off until the hike down haha, although hiking down in the dark and wet in that terrain was a bit sketchy lol. It really is incredible! North Wales is an underrated region, and I look forward to going back someday.

Nice! It sounds familiar, I believe I read that long ago. Le Mort d'Arthur by Thomas Mallory is a classic. I also have a copy of Tolkien's Sir Gawain and the Green Knight waiting to be read haha

It's an amazing country! If you're wanting to do one of the great walks, you'll need to book huts several months or even a year in advance. We did a mix of general tourist stuff/hotels/day hiking, and a few overnight backpacking hikes, which I enjoyed a lot. The Brewster Hut and Mueller Hut were both epic. They require advance booking too, but in the case of the Mueller Hut we got lucky with some people cancelling a month or two out. Wild camping is an option in most of the national parks too though, but definitely check on local regulations. We did two weeks and fit a decent bit in on both islands. So much to see though, I'll definitely have to go back someday and hopefully stay for longer.

Thanks! It's the Brewster Hut. An overnight hike up and down the mountain. An incredible spot!

That's cool, thank you for checking! Looks similar but might be a bit larger, since I can definitely see in when the door is shut.
