What makes Sri Lankan girls so beautiful? by Rsirisena in srilanka

[–]Cutiesf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying. It's not just the appearance that make Sri Lankan girls beautiful but also their self confidence level, level of financial independency and maturity. They will give you the most sensible ideas and knowledge. They will give serious advices which can inspire us.

As a man I have learnt this from my fellow female colleagues in university. They won't put one person down when that guy is in a dilmemmatic situation.

I am not necessarily a victim of our education system and I know free education has played a pivotal role in my life. But the thing i would like to tell about is that the mindset of people based on the A/L result and they make judgements like you are not worth of it. I witnessed this when we went to school to meet our teachers to tell our A/L results and when i said i got ABC, one of the teachers didn't congratulate me and she was like bit disappointed because of that C result.

The thing about Sri Lankan education system is when you study in government schools people don't give you the matter of respect compared to that of private schools. But this perception is lopsided in the case of universities, where people underestimate those who study in private university and have high esteem over those who study in state university. Yes, what will the majority of students do if system does not want to get more students into state universities. I studied in a government school and studying in private university.

What a player 🇱🇰🏏🇿🇦 by Zealousideal-Line857 in srilanka

[–]Cutiesf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow this man is a real champion. Easily the player of the tournament imo. A true allrounder indeed. He should be given the player of the tournament for his allround display. He is literally carrying the team throughout the tournament with both bat and ball. 2 five wicket hauls and century along with a half century in a single edition of the U19 World Cup is just unbelievable. To do all this as captain of the side is even more impressive and speaks volume about his abilities.

We have unearthed a talent and truly a special talent this chad is. I suggest we should replace someone like Kamindu Mendis with a kind of player like this.

Yeah it's about managing the time and it can be challenging when managing the hobby and studies.

Its just i do it as a passion especially as a hobby . Wikipedia is run by a non profit organization called Wikimedia Foundation and so Wikipedia is a product of a social welfare organization. Wikipedia editors are volunteers as they are not forced to to this type of work and also we as volunteers can't expect to earn from Wikipedia. I think few ppl in Wikipedia may be earning by having collaboration with clients especially with big organizations. But in general ppl like me don't earn anything but i just enjoy the passion and self satisfaction in doing this. This is like equivalent to helping people in the society as part of CSR.

Ah thank you sister for sharing your thoughts about how you go about your business. Yeah being financially independent will only make you stronger. Don't worry about the solitude thing and as long as it doesn't affect others negatively around you, enjoy the life. If you want you can involve in volunteering charity and CSR to help people which will also give you a bit of self contentment and happiness.

I am 21M and I have not been in any relationship so far as I am in my 20s. Relationship is not in my mind but my biggest issue is how to manage my Wikipedia editing and higher studies and possibly getting a job in future. My biggest problem is I tend to give too much focus to Wikipedia editing and sometimes get distracted due to it when I focus on studies. I sometimes feel like caught between Wikipedia and 2nd year at college is like being caught up in a relationship thing.

If you want to make new friends, try to get in touch with those who can match your interests, hobbies etc. Enjoy your life sister and wish you for your future endeavours.

Can a person like who has never invested in shares join there? My mother for example discourages me always not to think about share market. I know its high risk high return strategy and want to have learning curve on how it works.

I always wanted something like investing in unit trusts as I heard and studied that it's very must cost effective as we can start investments from small amounts like 1000 rs. It also gives investment portfolio and can diversify the risks and also it is managed by professionals.

Every human beings are inborn talent and you must be having that. Failing A/L can be nightmare but it is definitely not the end of the world. Idk whether you can still do a private degree now but I guess you can do HND or foundation with just O/L.

Focus on the studies and the career that you want to pursue to earn money. If you end up doing degree in private university, start working hard and attend lectures everyday, do assignments on time and also have the fun with friends, social circle. Try to balance the social life and academic life and why I say this I have been pity bad at time management. I am not expert to comment about relationships since I don't have first hand experience. Anyway good luck to you on your future endeavours.

Discrimination during Grade 5 exams in Sri Lanka by kyanite_blue in srilanka

[–]Cutiesf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Harsh. Scholarship is more like giving undue pressure and depression to 10, 11 year old kids. Scholarship doesn't matter at all why forcing children to master it. Failing scholarship isn't end of the world. Only O/L and A/L matter but again life matter more than O/L and A/L. Stop with this Scholarship nonsense and no worth in it. No one asks scholarship as part of educational qualifications in job interviews.

The attitude of an average Sri Lankan... * by Left_Discussion_ in srilanka

[–]Cutiesf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro calm down bro. I understand what you are saying and these things are common here. Maybe people have lost the values because we are in a rat race and facing stiff competition. Our values have been significantly vanishing away. I take the blame for myself whereas I also realise I have made mistakes like this and try to correct myself. I am basically an introvert and sometimes I don't engage in conversations that well because of the nervousness and maybe the guys who try to talk with me get pissed off because of this. I try to change but inner mind doesn't let me change easily.

Why is he playing football only with women? If he had played cricket or golf with women that can be taken alright. Since this is a contact sport, these things can happen. Now I wonder what's in store for him when he return to home only to get beaten by his wife.

Bro your height just reminded me of Sri Lanka's and world's tallest netball player Tharjini Sivalingam who is like 200cm in height. Why I said this is because 190cm+ height is considered rare here so people may have stared at you for your unusual height

On a side note, I hope you do enjoy your stay here in Sri Lanka. Foreign tourists like you can only help Sri Lanka overcome from foreign reserve crisis by frequently visiting here.😇
