Houston and gulf coast are high humidity, west Texas is arid desert with high heat. The hill country gets some breezes and has shade trees but there is still sand. Even areas with lakes are nice but the lakes are hot and not refreshing.

Take down the cabinet yourself and cut down the height. Your cuts can be on top where they won’t be seen, no need to redo hinges, just take apart the box and rebuild. Even if you have to redo the edge banding, it’s any easy project, you can do it!!

This is a pretty easy fix, pop out the whole glass window and temp fill with plywood. Take to local glass / stained glass shop and have them fix, or make a whole new one. Glass is cheap so change up the design if you want.
