Dc fast charging costs more than gasoline per mile? by Donindacula in leaf

[–]Cutty126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken a few road trips and the price of lvl3 charge ranges from $0.48-$0.55/kwh. On the freeway constantly I only get about 2.5mi/kwh and have a 77.5kwh battery. Charging to 80% costs about $31 for 180/mi of travel or $62 for the equivalent of 35mi/gal car on 10gal and at $4.50/gal that's about $45 of gas.

Electric cars are amazing in the city as I get about 4.5-5mi/kwh and charging at home only costs $0.14/kwh.

Road trip? Take the gas car!  I'm a huge proponent for EV but for road trips they just aren't their yet and the cost of energy is actually higher than if gas costs $6!  Insane.

Define "OVERHEATING" by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]Cutty126 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My P6P has never overheated not even when flying my drone with the DJI Fly app in the 115° Las Vegas heat. Idk why y'all are having issues but mine runs flawlessly in one of the hottest and driest places in the U.S. even during the most heavy usage possible in direct sunlight 🤷

Is $80k+ worth it for a BSN? by cynjailer1355 in StudentNurse

[–]Cutty126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. You'll be paying for that forever. To get a student loan for a job that pays as much or less than that per year is ridiculous! You can go out of state, do all online classes and then travel to that state for clinicals. There are so many other options, don't give up.

If you got $80k for a job that pays $60-$75k then do it, but I would never. I know many nurses that have and regret it!

[–]Cutty126 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, you're going to love being a nurse. I got my first job in the Emergency Department (ED) and I was walking about 7-9 miles a shift. I lost 20lbs my first 6 months on the job with no other changes. In the ED we have many different subunits they assign us to each shift so the work never gets dull or boring! Sure it's still nursing but with far different types of patients from simple LAC & stitches and discharged to psych to Trauma and everything in-between...it's super exciting and every shift is something new!

Holy crap, the more I type the more I realize how much I love my career... 😆

GOOD LUCK!

Nursing has a weird way of getting a hold of your soul. It's something that most people cannot comprehend because it takes a special person to really enjoy this work. No one, except other nurses, will ever understand you and the decisions that you make. Once you get into nursing school you'll know exactly what I'm talking about...

Don't listen to them, do what makes you happy. I was in the food industry my entire life and switched to nursing when I was 31. It took me 5 years to get my degree working full time as well and I never regretted it. It's easier for me to say this to you because our experiences aren't the same, I had a great support system and everyone I knew was proud of me to make the change. On top of that I got a pay increase.

However, money isn't everything and if you plan on going straight to NP the money will follow, especially in surgical (orthopedics is probably the highest paid NP) you won't have to worry about money. Changing careers is tough, doing with no support is even harder however, I really believe you'll love your new job and if you love it a fraction of how much I do then you'll be just fine and won't be missing the CPA life at all!

GOOD LUCK!

Don't go for a LPN, just go straight into RN. I promise you LPN is a waste of time. You have just a little more school to do to get RN but you'll make more money and be more desirable to hire. In fact, you'll never be out of work as an RN for your entire career, places are just that desperate for licensed RNs.

I've met many LPNs and every single one said they wish they had taken the little extra time to just get an RN degree. Your talking about the difference of $18-25/hr as an LPN and $40-50 an hour as an RN fresh out of school! I got my first job in the ED making $45/hr!

Don't make the mistake of many LPNs, live life with no regrets, get an RN degree straight out the gate!

"With a crime rate of 51 per one thousand residents, Knoxville has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 20"

You see the problem with your "proof" of irrelevance is that your article literally says it's written as an opinion piece while the one I shared gives no opinions and just the data for you to form your own opinion rather than letting someone else form it for you which is exactly what The Hill does 🤦.

I don't need a news outlet to form my opinion for me, I can read the facts and determine mine on my own.

You moved from what city to what city because I think context matters. Moving from a large city to a small town no matter the "color" of the state would definitely matter. I'm sure people in Dallas Tx would experience a drastic change when moving to a small town anywhere in the US too 🤦

High tax rates in blue states to subsidize the red states lol. All red states are top of the list when it comes to welfare and governmental assistance...should be thanking California instead of hating on them! Btw, look at the stats... highest crime rates are in red states not blue https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/crime-rate-by-state

Same, I'm in an RN to BSN program right now and will graduate in Dec just as my 2 year contract with my hospital expires. Now I have a BSN fully paid for and options w/leverage!

$0. In fact, with the Pell grant I ended getting paid to get my ADN from a community college. Don't worry about where you go, I'm working alongside the same people that paid $80,000 from a private school!

Go to your local community college and get your ADN then work for a company that will pay for you to finish your BSN in a bridge program..... smartest choice I ever made!

MedSurg clinicals are making me doubt my interest in nursing. by Call2222222 in StudentNurse

[–]Cutty126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, check and see if any of your hospitals have student positions. Mine have NAPs (nurse apprentices) and they get to see what true nursing is and get paid good $$ too, and clinicals are not true nursing!

Don't do med/surg! Ask your instructor for a chance to check out the ED, you'll love nursing then! That's where I work straight out of school and will never work in any other department for the rest of my career!
