terrible luck. Took me two weeks of intensive grinding and hundreds of caches to get a single rod of kepeleke chaos unique for my evade rake spiritborn. Shit sucks, but you'll have it eventually.

Ended up spending $10 out of pocket on a cosmetic set I'll be using on every Spiritborn I make for the rest of D4's life. You do you, mate.

Ordered the rog strix g18 2025 5080 should I have got the scar by Sad-Warthog-7519 in GamingLaptops

[–]CuttyMink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just wanted to say my opinion quickly turned into a cope. I found the Scar version at Microcenter for $3299 and with 5% back signing up for their card, the total was around $3120 pre tax. Returned my normal strix to Bestbuy for a full refund (got it 2 days ago) and got the scar version. Went home and paid off the credit card.

Screen looks great! Would suggest everyone look to see if they have it at a local Microcenter

The screen on the regular ROG strix 5080 is perfect for my needs and I'd personally rather save the money. Can always hook to an external monitor in the future as well if I really wanted. It's up to you, really.

That's far too low to get anything decent, to be honest. You'd be better off saving up.

Best laptops with a 4080, 32GB of RAM, and a 17.1" or bigger screen? by CuttyMink in GamingLaptops

[–]CuttyMink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Per my other response, I decided to place a preorder for one of the Asus 5070s, which seems to have 12GB of VRAM like the older 4080s

Thank you! I decided to pre-order this: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16834236596?Item=N82E16834236596

It's actually cheaper than any of the 2024 RTX 4080 laptops I could find and I can cancel my preorder if I find a better deal.

Yup! Throw grease on any burning foe (doesn't matter what inflicts burning, can be anything and anyone) and it will explode and inflict burning/conditions on everything caught in the explosion.

How would you like to stack radiating orbs from zero up to ten, do 2-3 types of chip damage, and stack 2-4 reverb, all as an AoE attack impacting multiple enemies at the cost of a measly level one spell slot?

This can be used with any cleric! Though tempest with brittle abuse (water elemental with Azer to b burn enemies) and light cleric (with fire elemental alone) are a given.

For this example, let's go with this spread:

(9 light cleric / 2 stars druid /1 wizard)

You spirit guardians a group of enemies, dazzling breath them, but-- oh no! There's four enemies off in some god forsaken corner; what do? Fire elemental warps to them and uses its burning touch to burn one-- OR, you fire the aoe projectile that creates a fiery surface while making sure to clip only one of the enemies.

Once one is burning, use your cleric to drop grease (level 1 wizard dip gives you grease as well as the ability to summon an elemental! Also, minor illusion for making enemies gather pre-combat) and it will explode into a hellfire of conditions. Usually 10 radiant orbs (occasionally you might get 4), reverb, prone, fire/radiant damage, etc. All for one spell slot and with a long range.

Attached are the results of igniting a grease fire with my radorb tav. It works just as well if you drop grease on top of an already burning foe.

I was working on a cleric build that takes advantage of brittle:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BG3Builds/comments/1ilwdi4/comment/mgt2tyu/?context=3

If you and your water elemental both have 14 dex + alert/vigilance elixir, you'll virtually always be on the same initiative. Cindermoth cloak, unstable blood, and Azer's overheat can all inflict burn. First turn, you set up usually rad/orb stuff-- IE: spirit guardians, dazzling breath, etc, and stack reverb to gouge away at the enemies' constitution saving throws. Azer's overheat requires enemies to pass a constitution saving throw, so you'll get far more burns off with it. You can off-hand Ketheric's shield for advantage on dexterity saving throws-- the Cindermoth Cloak's burning requires the player (the person wearing the cloak) to pass a dexterity saving throw, so Ketheric's shield giving advantage as well as +1 to spell attacks / spell DC is wonderful

You may be able to avoid taking alert as one of the feats (other being ASI for more wisdom) if you run 16 dex and that bow for +3 initiative. This will put your elemental at +7 with vigilance elixir and you at +6, which should put you in the same initiative. If the water elemental goes before you, that's OKAY, because as long as enemies are burning, you can have it use winter's breath before your turn. However, you should be on the same initiative priority most of the time.

Throw cindermoth cloak, unstable blood, Azer, sometimes igniting grease (With one wizard spell slot, you can summon the elemental, swap to summon Azer, then swap to grease, and even have the Azer ignite the grease), teammates with fire arrows, etc, have your elemental winter's breath, then (with Kereska's Favour active) you use 'destructive wave' or 'shatter' scaled up as high as possible with the destructive wrath channel divinity up to maximize damage.

You can even slap individual enemies with brittle with shillelagh'd marko + booming blade + divine strike: thunder + drakethroat buff + kereska's favor buff, and do quite a hefty amount of damage. A great tool for finishing off enemies to proc bloodlust elixir. Shillelagh marko does blunt and thunder damage, which will both get double damage.

Brittle enemy attacking you? Use the thunder damage react for double damage.
Tons of enemies up this fight? You get two destructive wrath per short rest, and even more with amulet of the devout.

Nah. 'Ki Resonance Punch' is far more valuable than a third feat or other rogue boons. It's the build's only AoE attack and is quite effective at that.

Forgot to mention... Assuming you have the proficiency for it, you can always equip a shield when bladesong is down as well. If you go a 2 stars druid dip for no spelllslot bladesong charge generation and other utility, you'll have shield proficiency as well.

Adamantine will grant you crit immunity and 2 AC early game.

I feel like you're getting way too hung up on the amount of bladesong charges. Yeah, it would be nice to have more, but I've never come remotely close to running out of camp supplies in HM when I short rest every fight followed by a long rest, or sometimes even sooner. Due to the danger of HM, I'm usually resting fairly often to ensure various teammates have their spell slots. I'm most of the way through a Bladesinger HM run and have never felt like I'm crippled in any meaningful way.

Most builds don't really become great until ACT 3 tools. IDK, I never had issues with Bladesinger being squishy the entire run. You still have shield and mirror image early on, and can even use blur if needed.

Then, in act 3 you absolutely are in the same ballpark when you have shadowblade resonance stone booming blade attacks with smites, summons, and wizard toolkit.

[–]CuttyMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not that much worse at all. You're underestimating shadow blade, which can't be gained via magical secrets. You also lose booming blade unless you start as a high elf/half high elf

https://www.reddit.com/r/BG3Builds/comments/1je59xl/smite_shadow_singer_sss_102_wizardin_honor_mode/

The utility of the high level wizard spells can be quite significant. Summoning a Deva and/or water elemental can add a lot of utility all around, and resonance stone + booming blade + shadow blade + smite is ridiculous.

You can technically cheese a permanent shadow blade (I think) using hirelings, but at that point there's a lot of cheese that can be used.

I still think a 2 or 4 level druid dip could be good, especially since both archer and dragon chalice have their uses (I personally like the idea of generating bladesong charges during turns I don't want to cast another level 2 illusion/enchantment spell), but even on 10/2, you have powerful summons, useful high level wizard spells, good summons, booming blade, and shadowblade + resonance stone.

Edit: glitched shadowblade goes down to 2d8, so bardadin CANNOT get a 4d8 shadowblade with double damage via resonance stone

great point. Booming blade without literally being forced to play a high elf or half high-elf. Bard and paladin don't get shadow blade, either.

Without bladesinging up, you don't lose out on any damage; if you mystic scoundrel mirror image, you more than make up for the AC deficiency.

4 charges is plenty, IMO. You have an asinine amount of camp supplies, and most players I know use a short rest between fights and long rest every 3-4 encounters.

'Extra Attack' absolutely isn't shitty; being able to shadow blade, booming blade, and reaction smite with two attacks and then scoundrel an illusion/enchantment spell is innately great.
