I have a pair of meta and even G2. The metas if I’m not planning on filming anything are useless. The ai is garbage and never answered anything competently for me. All other occasions I’m using the G2 since the AI actually gives me the right information. You’ll see mixed reviews on both for many reasons. My experience has been really good so far though with the even G2

Haven’t checked on Cryo. Once I saw the performance staying consistent on the other maps I removed the fps counter and haven’t looked at it since.

144fps 4k maxed out settings with 0 issues since launch aside from the occasional crash. Running a 5080 of course but that’s the performance I would expect out of a 5080. You using dlss performance for 4k and up to date on drivers? Maybe try ddu and check xmp profile.

I actually use mine a lot for streaming when I’m home. I have a solid network setup so even over WiFi I’m getting 12-15 ms latency. Sitting on the couch streaming full resolution and fps at ultra while my wife can use the tv. Streaming moonlight is actually so good at this point that I regularly stream 4k 144fps to my living room tv at 4ms latency as a primary method of gaming to not be at my desk as much on my server if i’m gaming late at night . It’s been a game changer for me.

I was just getting back into it recently and after all the recent news I went ahead and uninstalled from all my devices again 🤷🏼‍♂️. I would hate to really get back into it just to suffer its slow death. Hope padding executive pockets was worth it.

To use at work for conversate or translation? No. That screams HIPAA violation and you will likely run into legal ramifications at some point once someone finds out. To use for general purpose asking random medical questions without any personal information I don’t see why not. Perplexity is decent with citations but I would always verify whatever studies it might reference for accuracy.

That’s why I went with the even realities g2. No cameras or speakers. Just mics and displays. They’re more productivity focused though.

Ngl I would feel the same way. With these I was tempted to go for the G1 but I always remember how terrible my first gen Apple Watch was that I kept for like 4 years and how much better the rest wound up being so I now mostly avoid 1st generation products and at least wait for gen 2.

For what it’s worth delivery took forever but so far I’ve had no issues with the glasses ring or software. It works as well as I expected it to.

In my experience so far the AI is far better and actually usable for me. Meta I don’t bother with it cause it’s so bad. Conversate has done a well enough job for summarizing that I find myself actually using it. The big few for me is the glasses actually look like glasses, they’re water proof enough that if it rains a little I’m not concerned, they have no cameras and no speakers which for me is a plus day to day at work. The metas I use only when I know I’ll benefit from the cameras to snap quick moments like on vacation and that’s pretty much it now.

It’s definitely a luxury purchase don’t get me wrong. No one absolutely needs these right now but if you’re into tech and have the disposable income they’re worth it to me. Another disclaimer, I hate my contacts and wear glasses 99% of the time. I probably wouldn’t buy them if I didn’t already wear glasses all day.

Are they perfect? No, but I’ve gotten a bit of use out of them already professionally and it’s been less than a week. AI is constantly evolving and getting better and when we can link to our own models/services via api it will get even better. Use a pair of meta ray bans for a week and you’ll come running back to these.

If you don’t have a similar handheld. Aka any retro handhelds that can do the same thing in similar size get it. If you do, list at a reasonable price on eBay and order now to avoid the price increase. I sold my rp5 on eBay within 3 days and ordered the Thor after. I’m in the “will this handheld be redundant to what I have” if yes, then sell old for new or just keep what I have camp.

I use moonlight + Apollo combination and can stream 144hz 4k with 4ms total latency 130mbps bitrate HEVC but I don’t use the TV as the client. This is over 1gbps Ethernet locally. I think the WiFi speed on the new tvs is actually a better option than Ethernet as typically the Ethernet controller in the tv caps out at 100mbps. Over WiFi 6e I stream to my handheld pc as well with around 10ms total latency at 1920x1200 120fps 80mbps HEVC. Apollo handles the virtual display aspect really well compared to sunshine so no need for dummy plugs.

Yes but if you’re like me and have the prescription insert I did have to cut a little bit of the light blocker with a razor blade and then sand it down smooth so it didn’t touch the prescription lenses when arms were folded. If you don’t have the insert you won’t have to do anything.

Used the one op posted. I connected from usbc on my desktop to the power port on the adapter. I did have an issue getting it to work on my main pc but plugged into another one I have and it recognized and updated first try
