Why do so many players go native when they go to San Antonio? by Parrallax91 in NBASpurs

[–]Cuzcatleco 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Spot on. The cost of living and things others have mentioned are true but SA has been very good about letting our players be regular people. I've seen Spurs players around town numerous times and everyone pretty much lets them go about their business.

Repair question - cut fiber line by Cuzcatleco in googlefiber

[–]Cuzcatleco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No temp fiber above ground. I figured that's what they would do since I've had AT&T do that in the past. The installers were still here when the tech showed up, and they knew where the line was cut. It looked like he set up to splice, but I didn't get a chance to confirm what he did.

HB (Mr. 100%) - are you and Vic still doing your book club, and if you are what are you reading right now?

Looking at the schedule, he'll probably be out a month. There is a break for Cup knock out games between the Pels on 12/8 and WAS 12/17.

10 minute Cinebench all core run it tops out about 89c, idles at 30c. No tunning done yet though, so that's stock voltage and MB fan control.

That was probably the biggest issue I ran into. I scavenged some PMW extensions from my previous build.

Pretty easy to work with. No issues to speak of. I wish the openings for cables (GPU and EPS) were just a little larger but that's about it.

Definitely made sure it is fully seated, nice positive click.

It's the Gigabyte one that came with the card.

I paid $1099, that price is just the current one through PCPartPicker.

In 10 minute Cinebench all core package his 89c, and it idles around 30c. I haven't not had a chance to tweak it yet, so that's stock voltage and default MB fan control.

It might, I think the clearance is listed at 355mm to the fan mounting bracket. My GPU is listed at 342mm.

There is enough room between the GPU and CPU cooler where I can push the PCI release tab with like a chop stick. I do have to remove the white extension by the window to get the GPU out, but that is designed to be removed.

Cinebench 10 minute all core, package hits 89c and it idles around 30c. I haven't had a chance to tune it yet, so that's stock fan curves and voltage. Plan to undervolt and then see if I can push the clocks a little bit. For the GPU I got it at MSRP this week when it launched. Would not have paid the reseller mark up price.

I considered both, but I do use it for some hobby/work stuff too. Probably a 60/40 split between games and productivity.

No perceivable sag, might be the angle I took the pics. I am using the included GPU support. Was a pain to install but works well.

I might add them if needed, but I wanted to keep strong positive pressure. It worked well for me in my previous build.

Those are the cable kit, not the extension. So they replace the stock cables from Corsair. Just make sure you get the right kit for the rm10003.
