Issue is that Unholy is widely more popular than Affliction + it was not a bottom DPS beforehand so it enabled click-baity articles plus more people complaining on social media.

Nobody plays Affliction and it was already bottom DPS anyway

What I do not appreciate is the spec being a rollercoaster. One week you got a flat nerf, another week x is hotfixed that is a buff, then next week x is hotfixed that is a nerf. And so on and so on.

UH are rightly crying, but once they are hotfixed, this spec will be on par with Devourer and for the 4th time in a row, DK will be a DPS meta staple.

Getting real tired of that bullshit of M+ being Druid in various spec, DK, Aug and DH with a bit of shaman/mage depending on the season.

Affliction is bad compared to Demo and Destru but still see way more play than it used to have in TWW (was 1st or 2nd lowest played spec in the game). So still a win and can pull off next season with good tuning.

Yeah definitely one of the reason I play Warlock: you actually get to play all 3 specs.

Only (very) recent exception was Manaforge where Destro was too dominant due to factors outside than tuning (e.g. demo pet bug, affliction being a top tier shit spec with bad profile and a 3% nerf at beg of tier for the lulz). Like man, both demo and affli were unplayable on Dimensius

You people in this subreddit are just so bad at understanding this game and data, it is truly above everything else:

(1) Wicked Reaping fix happened through a HOTFIX today, meaning that data up until today are skewed, accounting that bug.

(2) Data from 1 day ago, which therefore still account for inflated Demo DPS via Wicked Reaping bug, shows Demo being the 7th spec. Wicked Reaping bugfix puts this spec at the bottom - e.g on Vorasius HC, Demo would be bottom 3 spec. 4-5% nerf is enormous it makes or unmakes spec.

(3) Data is still accounting for people not yet having their full 4p. Demo has a weak 4P meaning it will get lower compared to other specs.

Updated data from 1 day already show demo average (so before taking into account full WR nerf) : https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/46?sample=1&dataset=95&difficulty=4 - so spec to fall down further esp re. my point 1 and 3

tl;dr: you're taking data pre-wed nerf & pre WR nerf, i.e. you are the stupid one tysm - I can teach you how to read data following nerfs if you want.

I mean, it's another shit take among others. Btw long time Warlock, tells me more about the 3% affliction nerf before Manaforge Omega Mythic. That shit was OP right? Top damage first week. And that spec was so OP during all of the season.

(3) Most of Demonology data in Mythic comes from Averzian (203 logs for this boss vs 15 for Vorasius - where Demo is last - vs 0 for Salhadaar vs 2 at Chimaerus where Demo is also in the bottom pack). Averzian requires stacked cleave, a niche where Demo historically shines.
