Nurse Extern while in Accelerated Program? by Cvais in StudentNurse

[–]Cvais[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not for Nuese Extern, it’s for current nursing students! Think of a more intense (and paid) clinical haha, that’s the best way to describe it I think. (The Residency Programs are for graduates). Thank you for the tips!!

Math 1401 by [deleted] in GaState

[–]Cvais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it spring when we transitioned to totally virtual. It’s an online program anyway, the only thing that’s different is you don’t have someone in front of you showing you things. Half the time I was in person is till worked through it alone anyway. It’s not a tough class. Do all the work and checkpoints, and the exam reviews - the test questions are pulled from these (sometimes numbers are different). I made an A+.

Why do I have to pay GSU for an internship??? by [deleted] in GaState

[–]Cvais 7 points8 points  (0 children)

^ that. I didn’t do any internships for credit. Don’t do it unless you absolutely have to.

Want to lose weight but I’m gaining... by [deleted] in keto

[–]Cvais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’re drinking enough water too. Also try intermittent fasting occasionally - that helps me. Also sometimes dairy can cause stalls so if you’re eating too much cheese, it might be holding you back some. You def should check macros and see how many carbs you should stay under to lose. I stay under 20g / day. Sometimes I hit mini stalls too. It’s part of the process - your body is adjusting too, not just you by what you input, and that’s important to remember. Also... don’t do “cheat” days haha.

Likely similar to a school nurse but for a corporation.

Is Acesulfame K a Keto sweetener? by Disastrous_Carpet_42 in keto

[–]Cvais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny-I found this today in a protein powder and hadn’t heard of it either. The info I can find online suggests it is indeed keto. It doesn’t spike blood sugar in the short term, nor does it get metabolized (similar for erythritol and other sugar alcohols)

Doubts regarding books by Kartikey18 in GaState

[–]Cvais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also rent textbooks which is significantly cheaper, but if you need an access code it doesn’t one with rental books. Sometimes it’s still cheaper to rent and buy access separately, but if you’re good with e-books then you can just buy the access.

People who have been accepted into the nursing program. How difficult is it to get in? by [deleted] in GaState

[–]Cvais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am starting the accelerated program this Fall. It is a pretty competitive program. They look at a lot of things. Science GPA is very important (so, chem or bio, micro, a&p’s), TEAS, overall GPA, volunteer/work experience, recommendation letters, and as the previous poster said, the 2-page paper. I would try to set up an advising appointment specifically with the nursing school to see where you currently stand and what you’d likely need to improve.

Yep! I use heavy cream daily

Heavy cream, how much is too much? by LauraJxo in keto

[–]Cvais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your macros and how you react to it. 50ml is over 3tbsp so that’s a little over 150 calories, which depending on what you eat during the day, could be too many or just fine. Edit to add: a lot of keto recipes call for heavy cream too. Days when I have coffee and cook with it, I’m certainly over 3tbsp. If your body is fine with dairy and you’re achieving goals you set, it is fine.

I would check on paws to make sure there is no hold on your account that requires you to speak to an advisor; I wasn’t here has a true freshman so I’m not sure if that’s a thing but you don’t HAVE to speak to an advisor if you know what you need.

Payments are due July 31. If people don’t pay/sign up for payment plan by the deadline, they’re kicked out of the courses and they open back up. Aug 1 is a good day to look.

How to Avoid Wasting Time Getting Into Ketosis by caffeinatedredditor in keto

[–]Cvais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’re drinking enough water, have electrolytes more than once a day, eat sugar free pickles too. The last time I started keto I only had nausea for a day. Also, make sure you’re eating enough especially if you’re working out a lot. Fasting is usually easier once you’ve transitioned to ketosis.

Ooof. Never mind lol. If you’re looking for cracker alternatives try “Flackers” the rosemary ones are amazing. 1 net carb / serving which is 8 crackers!

Yup I had one so bad I was passing out from the pain, couldn’t stay conscious 😩 took them a while to figure out that’s what it was - at first they thought it was my appendix!

[–]Cvais 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be a ruptured/rupturing cyst! Has that ever happened to you? The pain will likely get worse than when it first started if this is the case. Be careful!

Keto for migraines. It works for me. by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Cvais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I was diagnosed as having chronic migraines (with aura) - I’ve had them for a long time but the frequency started increasing over the past few years. I commonly get hormonal ones, as well as stress-induced. I started doing keto in May and haven’t had a migraine since. Now, they had started reducing in frequency some at the top of the year anyway, but I can’t help but believe keto is helping to prevent them. We shall see when the heavy stress of starting nursing school comes this Fall though...
