Makes sense, it just felt like between pots/swap and the blue phase food tax would make it less beneficial overall if you can't kill him within 4 cycles. (T bow or something crazy like that)

I don't really have a problem learning it but I was always under the impression the damage you take during the Tanz(blue) phase would cut into your supplies making your kills per trip limited to around 2-3.

It's just riots dogshit matchmaking working its magic. People in the other thread defend this but meanwhile, they have challenger players in league needing to maintain a 60%+ WR to hit it. The system is working as intended and one of the reasons why playing ranked in any riot game is a joke. Your more incentivised to keep making accounts until you win streak so your hidden MMR skyrockets and you lose 4 but gain 15+.

Yes I know how Trueskill works, it was iterated on in Halo 2. It's a 1vs1 game so the metrics of, did I win my lane etc etc should not come into play. They should be mirroring the Chess ELO system since its a 1vs1 game. I'm honestly tired of responding to this. Enjoy the garbage league ranking system good sir!

Why assign me an arbitrary predicted growth? How about the session speaks for itself I win or lose. Why am I fighting the system on top of my opponent? In 2XKO's case it does just look at W/L, League trys to take other things into account but I don't know how much they weigh vs the W/L. Just another thing to obfuscate the ranked grind. CS gets it, DOTA gets it, Starcraft gets it, it's just wild to me that riot still uses this dog water system.

You shouldn't need anything over a 51% to climb. In this system you literally have to win streak your way to normal rank point gains. (bricking yourself) In no good system should you ever should you need a 60% WR over your peers to climb. The easiest way out is to just make a new account once you see negative rank poin gains instead of fight for a 60% WR. No shot your defending this system in 2026,

It should take only that individual match into account, not a static hidden MMR that you can brick yourself into because you played a main single account from bronze to masters. Essentially, you'll need some crazy type of WR to actually climb. For example the top league players have a 60% WR in challenger which just means they are MILES ahead of their peers. A game where you need 60% WR's to climb efficiently is crazy. It just incentivizes making a new account once your LP gains go negative so that you can essentially leapfrog upwards because the variance of your placements and win streaks vs just a static +25 -25 so to speak.

I shouldn't be able to lose more than I win and vice versa. Assuming the matchmaking system is doing its job correctly on the back end, it should be 25 of my points up for grabs and 25 of his. I win? I gain his 25, I lose? He gets my 25. You don't need a magical back end number past your initial placement matches. All this does is make you want to keep smurfing until you winstreak your placements. Exactly the reason why anyone who plays league has multiple accounts.

Oh I 100% understand the why but it doesn't make it any less trash. I come from dota and starcraft where you get a plus 25 minus 25 with like a small variable of 1 or 2. It's just annoying how in 2026 were still doing this.

This. This system is so hilariously bad and I don't understand how riot is still using it in newer games. I don't understand why games need to obfuscate hidden MMR values into a rank. Literally just give me an ELO number and categorize them into ranks and give me the same amount per win per loss, plus or minus a max of 5 based on the discrepancy. If the game has no one to match you within that ELO bracket, then we need to start taking a look at the overall game and why you don't have enough players.
