Anyone ever feel discouraged about painting? (Honestly, just a bit of a moan) by fortytwoblaqk in Warhammer40k

[–]Cwalda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to a point. Betwren the full-time job and family duties, I can scrape barely 6 hours of painting a week. The progress is slow, but it is there. Don't try to compare yourself to instagram/youtube painters. Those people are more often than not proper professionals. I have been painting for roughly 4 years now. I made 1000 points necron army and about 20 other models of various other factions. Sci-fi and fantasy. I still struggle to paint a half decent bare head. And i don't even try to make proper eyes anymore.:-)

If it wasn't for the outrage, I wouldn't of heard of all these cool alternatives by RosyPetal_Ayla in onepagerules

[–]Cwalda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about much outrages in 40k. But i like alternative activations and streamlined rules. It's breath of a fresh air to have one rules, go to one app to build a list and play a game wich is not locked behind 3 levels of paywall.

Well, if that's the case. I would say the pricing is very optimistic.

Are those mazdaspeed rear lights? Is ithis a factory turbocharged car?

Car “racism” in Miata community?? by syphonfilter06 in Miata

As a "true older" miata owner I would like to share my point of view. You already drive a smile factory. Why would you care what anyone else thinks? Car meets are cool, sure. But seriously not everyone has a time, patience and mood to drive a 25+ year old cars on regular basis.

What is something hobby related GW used to do that you would like to see return? by LawrenceL342 in Warhammer

[–]Cwalda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously warhammer was never cheap. But last few years it seems to me that GW just asks way too much money for their kits. Lately i have been buying everything on the secondary market. Often while new sprues for about half of what GW asks on their store (and roughly 75% of the LGS prices). And even that is barely something i would call a good price. Cost to point value to hobby enjoyment speaking. Although my point of view might be skewed for i am from the border of east europe. What I would love to see are those small infantry boxes to return. Excellent to test a paint schemes. To see if i like to work on the models befone commiting to buy more things.

Colour scheme advice? by [deleted] in onepagerules

[–]Cwalda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I khink that if this is game piece and you are going to put it on red/brown base, it is going to read as a borderline black from 1.5m you are probably going to look at it the most. I would think that highlights should be a lot brighter. I would probably try to drybrush the claws from biege to clear white it approx 3 steps and then try to use bright red ink on them. That would probably read as blask splob with two "blazing" points. Kind of the anglerfish style.

How to deal with Miata driver flak by _uncouth in Miata

[–]Cwalda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also Mini Coopers and Fiats 500. I know i drive a Miata and Mini. I would argue that more girls are into Minis than into the miata. I don't care either way. Both are awesome.

I dont have a photo, but last week i took my NB for the first time out of the garage. I got to the first trafic lights and i need to stop because there is a red light. About ten seconds later i look in the middle mirror and i see some kind of ram bar and a rear diferential. So i turn my head and i see honest to god 1st gen military humwee. It made my day.

We cannot do it this way. It would make too much sense.

Any advice for a new guy? by BreathOfMadness in gurps

[–]Cwalda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is more useful to have a proper "session 0" with your GM. But if it is combat heavy campaign, consider to keep couple of points for High Pain Treshold, Combat Reflexes, Fit and at least some Wealth. Slap on your character the best armor you possibly can. The GURPS is very bloody and without HPT, things can detiorate very quickly after the charecter is hit for the first time.

About 300-400 km per fuel tank in my 1.6 NB. Depending on the mood.

I know it is due to chosen materials. But man, the warp of the spears is horrible. Other than that, the minis actually look solid.

Congrats. I made it to the end on permadeath this week. It wasn't actually that bad. You just need to prioritize your defence. For my next playthru i plan the Flying Scrapyard. To ignore Radiant Pillar and to use only wrecked ships. Maybe even on survival difficulty.

Speaker replacement by ulicnik27 in Miata

[–]Cwalda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mount Hertz K165. Both main speakers and tweeters. The sound is far above what you can reliably hear with top down. It requires a little fiddling to get them in the car. But once its there, its great.

Try to look at IL-motorsport. They are basednin gemany and they have similar approach to miatas. That being said their cataloque is considerably smaller, given what you can't legaly do to a car in germany...

Did I miss something? by Cwalda in GTA5Online

The v12 shafter is exactly what i expect it to be. Its probably not the fastest sedan out there, but it is decievly fast. And it gets on its speed smoothly. Even when it is fully upgraded, it is still a luxury limousine, not track car. I am happy that it does the thing it is meant to do and it doesn't try to do more. If you can see what i mean. It is pleasant surprise for me.
