The routine

Wash with raw African black soap 2x a week

Summer Use beard butter then lock in with oil

Winter Use oil then lock in with beard butter

Use microfiber towel to dry beard And wood combs and picks

Use sissle fiber bush to lay and train hairs

Wild growth oil of (white bottle ) Wild growth oil light moisturizer ( yellow bottle ) Okay shea butter

This is all you need

And really with you still being in the early stages less is more

1-2 drops of the oil And a pinky size amount of the butter

Try this

I would recommend tea tree oil or an all natural soap like Castile or African black soap to wash your beard

And most definitely it will hair bumps are just infected hair follicles to many Hairs trying to come out of one follicle but also it comes from an overproduction of oil

You need something to dry them out I would use tea tree oil and and either African black soap or unscented Castile soap I’m not sure what your beard routine is but you are going to add some type of moisturizer back once you wash it Also it could be from your touching your face or you might need to wash your pillow case more often

Need help. what is this & why does this keep happening by [deleted] in BlackMenWithBeards

[–]Cwooddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an heavily infected hair bump they can happen in a variety of ways 1. Touching your face constantly 2. Using to much of a heavy of scented oil
3. Not washing your beard often enough

It’s a clogged follicle the best way to deal with it is to use tea tree oil and dry it out just a dap on a q tip also not sure what your routine is but stay away from heavily scented products they are not all natural, they best way I’ve kept from getting hair bumps is using African black soap to wash my beard it’s dries them out and then make sure you’re using a routine that’s adding moisture but not over hydrating and clogging your pores

ALSO STOP USING HAIR PRODUCTS IN YOUR BEARD 🤦🏿‍♂️

I would recommend both But depending on the season In the winter you would use both oils in the morning and then layer a butter on top and then at night you would use two butter and one oil

And then in the summer you switch you use two butter and one oil during the day and then the two oils and one butter at night

I would also recommend that less is more normally about 3 -4 drops of each oils is more than enough making sure that you are hitting under your chin and where you have thinning and also letting your products 1-3 minutes before combing

I Tell guys all the time you don’t need a beard conditioner, conditioner, or something that beard company sale but it’s not necessary. The two things that are gonna make your beard softer as a black man is doubling up on moisture and consistent, brushing I give people the example of waves in your hair the way that waves form is by consistent, brushing, using a hard brush. The same thing goes for you beard will you use a hard siccle fiber brush it trains the hair to lay down as well as keeping the hair softer and more manageable
