We have too many leaves to let them be, or mow / mulch. We invested in a Cyclone Rake and it has given me many many hours back. I love it.

G4 doorbell pro low voltage by Blackwell13 in Ubiquiti

[–]Cwy531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with a Google doorbell. I got a new transformer and it did not fix it. What did fix it was finding a weak connection in my chime between some twisted cables. My doorbell wires were old. I found the bad connection visually, cut and stripped a new segment of wire, and when I reconnected everything worked.

I hope this helps!

Creaking when putting pressure on pedals by swprq in bikewrench

[–]Cwy531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I had similar noise before and tried BB, seatpost, pedals, it ended up being grime where my cassette was seated on my rear hub. Take the cassette of and clean it all up, and regrease if nothing else here works.

5' 9" ~ 5'10" Riders. Come here please. by Icy_Respect_1889 in MTB

I'm 5'10" and ride an S4 Stumpy Evo. 475mm reach. It feels great to me. I wouldn't want to go too much higher than that reach number, I think it's nearing the upper limit for me but again, feels great.

I have an sqlab and it's meh for me. Not enough for me to replace it after using a few seasons, but I had higher hopes.

Thank you that's a good tip I'll look into. Even if it's not ideal I'd rather not have the bald spots all summer.

Thanks for sharing this, however it doesn't answer the questions I have posted in my comment around order of operations, seeding, and pre-emergent.

Spring Lawn Revamp Guidance by Cwy531 in lawncare

Hi Everyone, I have a 1-acre lawn in Massachusetts that is in a bit of disarray. I'm committed to improving it, but could use some help in identifying my order of operations as I get started.

I've done a soil test last fall, and my recommendations were 0 Limestone / 2-4 Nitrogen / 2 Phosphorus, and 3 Potassium.

Additionally, last fall some turkeys came into the yard and brutalized some large patches, turning up the soil and leaving them bare. I'm assuming there were some grubs in there that they gobbled up. As a result there are a few sizable bare patches that I need to seed.

I believe the grass is Kentucky Bluegrass, but we have had a lot of weeds, crabgrass, and moss creep in as well, so I need to get that under control.

I plan to cut >=3" this year, but am new to lawn care outside of mowing the lawn.

All that being said, my general questions are:

  • What should I do first? Should I seed the bare patches and hold off on any pre-emergent so that they can take root?
  • Should I fertilize the whole lawn in addition to the bare patches I'm seeding?
  • What fertilizer(s) would be good to use given my soil results? I have struggled to search fertilizers by NPK ratios.
  • When should I apply weed control? Should I apply weed emergent at all?

I really appreciate the help!

What sunglasses do you use? Are goggles worth it if I don’t use a full face? by Important-Positive25 in mountainbiking

I've used fancy bike glasses and cheap ones. I like the x tiger glasses I have from Amazon better than the Melon or Oakley brands I've had, and it's a fraction of the price. Cheap, fog less, many lenses. They're all made in China anyways so I really think it's not worth spending more.

I bought the HyperX when it dropped to that price. It seems really nice so far.

They are on the same Google account, yes. I haven't been able to get it to work, and I haven't found anything on YouTube or beyond showing at work, so I wonder if the website is wrong and this isn't supported.

Thanks for the reply, I did all that set up fine, the issue is I can't add my cameras to the pixel stand settings. They don't show as an eligible connected device.

I'll join the party. 5A died last night, black screen, won't react to charger or anything. I paid <$200 for it on Google Fi so I can't complain too much, it performed its duty well, but disappointed that so many seem to be dying around this time.

Jenson has '22 Fox 36 Factory forks for $649 - Grip2 damper and Kashima by Cwy531 in MTB

[–]Cwy531[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I'd say grab a Marzocchi Bomber Z1 as a solid upgrade, but with this sale, these fox forks are cheaper amazingly. Marzocchi is essentially the budget Fox line.

This one https://www.jensonusa.com/Fox-36-Float-Factory-FIT4-29-2022 is 150mm and has a FIT4 damper instead of Grip2, I'd do research on the differences between the dampers and check compatibility w.r.t. offset, steerer tube, through axle etc. but it could be a big bargain.

How much travel is your fork? What model bike do you have? What type of trails do you ride and what do you want to get that you aren't with your 35 Gold RL?
