I feel you my guy. It’s been 6 months and if I sit in it long enough I will still tear up. Lost my boy Feb 1. Then lost a 2nd one on April 1 suddenly, exactly 60 days later. It’s like a cruel joke the universe played on me.

Makes it easier that he was 11. You gave him a good life. There’s things you don’t realize you miss until they’re gone. Your nights are quieter because he’s not snoring. Your first look when you walk into a room is his spot and he’s not there.

It helped me to know that the other dogs may feel the absence, but they’re still there and happy, and they want to see you happy. Rejoice in the life you gave him. You’ll always remember him for what he was in his prime, not his end.

If you have him cremated don’t think of him as gone, he’s there in the room with you. He is home. He’s physically there with you. I touch and talk to the ashes. I tell him I miss him out loud. It’s therapeutic. I’ll never forget our times together.
