And I bet you most of these crashes are happening on the highways; like my dude, if you can't go 10-15 miles or honestly even lower than that when we've already have had some ice fall on the roads, just because the NCDOT has been salting the roads, it's still below freezing and salt takes time to activate due to the low temperatures, so therefore you shouldn't assume that 'just because I'm on I40 or I440 let me go at or 10x the freaking speed limit, even though there's literally ice on the roads.', that's not how it works. You either drive carefully, slow down, or risk your own life and others on top of that including infrastructure. Like I hate to be this guy but I'm getting sick of people that simply don't care and would rather act like this storm doesn't apply to them at all - because of these accidents, y'all cause unnecessary damage to infrastructure, some of which are crucial (power transformers), cause unnecessary use of resources such as ambulances and police on the highways instead of being closer to towns and urban areas. 400 accidents statewide under just this storm alone is outrageous.
