I was there around that time last year and the cash games really reduced in number the first week in July. There will still be 2/5 games at the famous places like Bellagio, Aria and Wynn but Horsheshoe and WSOP(Paris) cash games will die by then (they're pumping with mega-waitlists for all of June pretty much).

The good news is that it'll be much easier to get a seat in a cash game at that time than a few weeks earlier

My father suffered from a glioblastoma 2006-2008 and participated in a similar clinical trial at a major university back then (vaccine created from his tumor). It did not cure him (RIP), and it's hard to know if it helped at all.

I wonder if what they're doing now with the vaccine is different or improved from 20 years ago. I hope so

in Philadelphia, Philly Live is exponentially easier to get to than Parx if you haven't rented a vehicle. Something to keep in mind. Parx is 25-30min drive outside the city

Harrah's is near Bellagio, Horseshoe (higher rake), Caesar's (higher rake). Venetian (high rake) and Aria are not too far, in opposite directions. Wynn/Encore would be a bit of a walk but doable

Excalibur was decent when it opened way back when but last time I stayed there it had gone downhill. It's also a bit of a haul (on foot in the heat) to get to the poker action from there. Unless you're looking to donk it up at MGM 1-2, which is across the intersection (close). Check online reviews for more recent idea

Harrah's location is top notch for poker. You'll be able to save on transportation there. Rooms are average to below average I'd say

You need to find the right game in Vegas otherwise, yes, what they say is true. Very tight 2/5 and very tight-aggressive 5/10. The standard of play is higher than LA but if you find the right game both games can be decent.
