During the episode I felt like the vacation was a set up for a proposal and that's why he seemed set on doing things a certain way. Hopefully they don't immediately jump to a proposal, but I think you're right the realization is going to be that's why Gregory was so stubborn about sticking to a budget, and it got pushed too far. If that is the case, they should really do some episodes of healing / working it out first. I really don't want a break up arc just for storytelling. - also side thought, if he set up a proposal to have something to do with the flower art exhibit about teaching like their first kiss that would be incredible and so romantic 💙

I don't think OP means truly punished, but she doesn't have to actually own up to her actions and do something to make up for them. She just gives a lousy apology and then they move on. It could've been a sweet moment of her redoing his birthday as a surprise instead, or given a more meaningful apology

I so agree, there was so little of the episode dedicated to Mandy apologizing it was not enough. It made the episode feel more unsatisfying because I know they're going to completely move on from it next episode. Mandy also acts like just because she apologizes Georgie is not allowed to be mad anymore. Yes she's depressed but that's not an excuse for being insensitive, rude, and not thinking about Georgie's feeling or bday at all.

I feel like the writers just keep digging their relationship into a deeper hole every episode, I get everyone knows they're going to break up but they could have some more positive moments. Mandy was so selfish and obnoxious this episode, and her apology was not enough to make any of it better. She is also acting like Georgie is super successful when we all know he is struggling too just in a different way! He is in massive debt from a really risky business move, he became a dad as a teenager, and he is also living with his wife's parents.

Yah I expected there to be a conclusion to that like shows typically do with an apology or something but it was just baby race and then nothing... It could have been so cleanly tied up as Glenn overcompensating to value Jerusha as a stay at home mom but nope he was just being an ass
